She Brings Me Warmth

Simply, a love poem.
On a cool and misty autumnal day,
A ray of orange sunlight lit up my heart,
To fulfill a wishful dream I'd had,
Pierced by Cupid's little golden dart,
To be in love with a lady of such esteem,
I feel humbly honored by her acquaintance,
The wonderful feeling of a love returned,
I believe, enhances my personal acceptance,
No more cold days, in her loving embrace,
She shall forever shine warmth into my life.

The golden gown lying beneath leafless trees,
Makes a crunching sound under our feet,
As we walk hand in hand by the burbling stream,
I pull her closer to plant a kiss on her cheek,
She holds me tight and with a sigh on her breath,
She tells me she loves me then kisses my lips,
And we lose ourselves in this perfect moment,
To be captured in our memories forever.
No need to fly south with the birds for the winter,
I'll have all the warmth I need just being with her.

As the cool sun sets and the cold moon rises,
And the evening casts it's long shadows,
We head back home to sit down by the fire,
And share a bottle of wine bought from Haddows,
With a smile on her lips and a sparkle in her eyes,
She suggests that we head off to the bedroom,
Where we make love beneath a feather down quilt,
As the heat of our passion chases the gloom,
Of the cold damp air of the gathering storm,
And all through the winter, she brings me warmth.
