Sharp Pain in Stomach After Eating

Dyspepsia or indigestion caused due to overeating is the most common cause of abdominal pain. In order to avoid this, meal planning or proper diet plan is extremely important. In case of food poisoning, stomach pain will be accompanied by nausea and vomiting which will result in dehydration. Pain in Stomach During Pregnancy

Pain in Stomach: Left Side

Any malfunction in the digestive system, left kidney, left ovaries (in females) can result in sharp pain in left side of the stomach. Diverticulitis, a disease of the large intestine, is commonly observed among elderly people, it is another cause of stomach pain. Other symptoms like tenderness and bloating are also observed.

Another prominent cause of sharp pain in left side of the stomach is kidney stones. If the kidney stone is passed from the left kidney, the pain is experienced in the left side of the stomach. Stomach pain is also a symptom of other diseases like viral hepatitis, pelvic inflammatory diseases, Crohn's disease and irritable bowel syndrome. Viral hepatitis results in serious and chronic stomach pain. In females, ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cysts; whereas in males, spermatic cord or testes disorders can cause left side pain in stomach. Pain in Stomach: Right Side

Stomach pain is a symptom of appendicitis or inflammation of the appendix. Sharp pain in the upper abdomen is a symptom of pancreatitis. The onset of upper stomach pains is in the upper abdomen but it also spreads towards the sides and the back. Pain in right upper stomach is caused by gallbladder disease or gallstones.
