Choose the dark red hair color shades (cherry red, dark burgundy) and medium red shades (true red, medium auburn, dark copper red colors). Do not opt for light red hair color shades, unless your natural hair shade is light red color.
Gray Hair Color Shades: Gray hair color shades are selected by people who want to cover up natural gray colored hairs. The gray hair color should be such that it is two shades darker than the original hair color.

The thumb rule to get the right hair color for you is to opt for those that are two shades lighter or darker than your natural hair color. Always stick to the shades of hair color that suit your complexion or skin tone. Also, it is not uncommon that the hair color shades chosen from the swatch book do not come exactly the same when we apply them into our hair. Hence, make sure you apply them in a few hair strands to check the result. If the hair color shades work out fine, then you can continue with chunky hair highlights or dyeing completely as per your choice.
