Setting Out 9 (Part Two)
A friendly face and a first kiss. That's Taylor btw...

"Do you mind if I sit here?" she shook her head. He sat down next to her on the wall. They sat in silence for a minute and Violet was glad he wasn't going to talk to her. She was still trying to figure out if that blonde girl was Jasper's girlfriend. She thought about asking the person next to her, but she didn't even know his name. As if he could read her mind, he offered his name.
"Taylor" Violet repeated, she still hadn't looked at him. She was scared that if she did, she'd start crying. She tried to put her question in a way that didn't seem as if she was fishing for answers.
"A lot of pretty girls here today" in her peripheral vision she saw his head turn towards her.
"Uh, yeah" Violet almost smiled.
"So why aren't you in there chatting them up or something?" he shrugged.
"I saw you walk out the house, and you looked real upset, so I followed to make sure you were okay" Violet finally looked up. It was quite dark outside but she could see his eyes were green, and as he smiled at her, she saw his dazzling white teeth.
"Thanks, uh, something happened" that was all she was gonna say.
"It's alright; don't have to tell me nothing, it's not my business"
"D'ya know, that tall blonde girl in there, looks like a model, do you know her?" Taylor looked at her real closely, eyes narrowed. His eyes widened and he nodded, as if he understood.
"Yeah, that's Jasper's on and off girl, you'll never guess what her name is?" Violet's heart sunk but she played along, he was trying to cheer her up.
"Uh, Brianna?"
"Nope"
"Candy?"
"No"
"Oh, I give up"
"It's Cindy!" Violet frowned and they both burst out laughing. Taylor was doing a good job, she was feeling a little less down.
"So, you live round here?" he asked.
"No, well, I'm staying here with the Bretts but I live in a little town no-one's heard of. How do you know Jasper?"
Taylor looked away, then back at her.
"Well, we went to school together. But we're not exactly friends, anymore"
"Oh! Why not?"
"Last year, Jasper took it upon himself, to steal my girlfriend"
Violet stared at him, eyes wide.
"He did what?" she hissed.
"Yeah. It's as much my fault as his, I knew, know, what a womanizer he is"
"How can you say it's your fault? It wasn't, the blame should be shared out between him and the girl he stole from you" Taylor chuckled and glanced at her.
"I guess. Oh well. We say hi and bye, but we'll never be close again" Violet saw Jasper in a new light. She shouldn't be feeling upset about him. It was obvious he was a womanizer, she just hadn't seen it cuz he was so good. She felt sorry for Taylor; he didn't deserve to lose his girlfriend like that. Violet could tell he was a good guy.
She stood up and he did too.
"Well, there's hours left in this party, wanna go dance?" she asked. Taylor nodded, they linked arms and walked into the house. The light in the hall was on and Violet peeked sideways at Taylor. He was gorgeous! He had short black hair with blonde highlights, gorgeous green eyes, tanned skin, high cheekbones and some seriously kissable-looking lips. She looked ahead and allowed a small smile; she was on the arm of a god. And he was hotter than Adonis, so there!
Taylor saw Violet peek at him from under her long eyelashes and he also saw her smile after. That was alright, he was checking her out too. And damn was she hot!!!! The dress she was wearing was perfect on her.
They moved to the dance floor and started dancing. The whole time Taylor was wondering how he had got so lucky. Even though he was good-looking, the girls usually went for Jasper. Jasper had more charm, and he knew to make the girls 'sing for him' as Ghetto quoted in one of Taylor's favorite songs.
~*~*~**~
Taylor and Violet swapped phone numbers when the clock struck three am. The party was over and everyone was leaving. A few people left with a bottle of alcohol, some were crashed out upstairs and some were chucking up in the garden. Violet grinned as Taylor, wrapped an arm round her and hugged her. She really liked him, he was fun and he knew how to make her laugh, he made her evening and most of the morning fun. She walked with him to the gate at the bottom of the lawn.
"Jeez Taylor, are you sure you haven't brought the whole fridge with you?" Violet teased, Taylor was one of the people who took a few bottles.
"Ah, course not, I took the sink too, there's more stuffed down my trousers" he joked and they laughed.
Violet was aware that Taylor had set the bottles down on the wall behind them. He was standing real close to her now, and she could feel his breath on her face. She tilted her head up to look into his eyes, and saw what he was going to do a second before he did. He bent his head s l o w l y and Violet licked her lips, finally ready to have her first kiss.
It was slow and sweet, and it made every hair on her body stand up. He cupped her face in his hands and gently opened her mouth with his tongue. It was amazing and Violet's tongue had a mind of its own. She wrapped her arms around him and pressed her body into his. When they broke apart, they were grinning, no, beaming! Taylor stared into her eyes and was going in for another kiss when someone coughed behind them. They turned and came face-to-face with a drunken dude stumbling towards them. Taylor chuckled and moved out the way, the guy lazily raised a hand and crashed through the gate.
Violet wanted to kiss Taylor again, all morning in fact, but he had to go home. She hugged him and walked back into the house, upstairs, into her room, kicked a half-naked couple out, and dropped onto her bed.
Outside, two windows down from hers, a curtain twitched, and there was a quick flash of a face.
