- Exercise is also known to help increase the serotonin levels in the body. That is why, when you are depressed, you are asked to engage in some kind of physical activity, as this will help you to indirectly alleviate the depression.
- Other methods of improving serotonin levels in the body include the intake of depression medication such as antidepressants. However, this must be done only under the supervision of a doctor.
