SEO - Getting into Google and Yahoo

A look at how to submit to search engines such as Google and Yahoo which require a manually submission that can employ techniques such as an XML feed.
Although SEO experts will make a big deal about optimizing a site sometimes all you really need is a well designed functional site with a good shopping cart, accurate articles and descriptions of your products and services on the site and a good niche product that is sold at an affordable price. All of the SEO in the world will not sell a lousy overpriced product from a website that is not secure in terms of payment and is filled with articles that do not relate to what the site is selling. The more true you are to what you are actually selling, and the more ethical you are about what you are selling the more likely you are to be paid attention to by the big search engine. The truth is that the big search engines such as Yahoo and Google are mutating their algorithms daily to weed out the SEO tricksters from the real thing.

One way that both Yahoo and Google have been weeding out those who try to take SEO shortcuts from those who are serious about their business is to ask for manual submission to their programs. Yahoo is famous for their manual submission program, which not only costs you, but also offers no refund if they decide to reject your site. Google Sitemaps has a similar submission process in which an XML type feed can be created and submitted.

Do you need to go to all this trouble to get listed in the search engines. Generally if your site is good and not an obvious ploy to fool the spider engines or fool people all it takes is a simple link from a site that has already been indexed to improve the page rankings of your web site. In order to do this though you need to convince a big business to be impressed with your site, which is why, SEO nowadays is also about how to improve the functionality and look of your site so it is appealing to others.
