Senior's Cruise Ship Living

Would you be interested in living on a full outfitted cruise ship that traveled the world possibly cheaper than living in a retirement community? If your answer is either a YES or a May Be then read on!
This project came about from seeing an email that was titled No Nursing Home for Me!

Boy did that catch my attention! I'm a single 60 year old that has no family ties at all. No wife. No kids. No Mom or Dad. No brothers and sisters!

Also I love cruise ships! Spent one week doing a workshop on a cruise ship and felt like a king! I only learned AFTER the cruise was over that "breakfast in bed" was included! Bummer!

So I began reading this email. It seemed that a man with his wife were on a cruise when they noted a little old lady sitting at a table by herself as they went down to eat their meals. She seemed to have the attention of all the staff including the captain. The husband told his wife that this little old lady must be one of the owners of the cruise ship company with all that attention. So he asked the waiter if he knew who the little old lady was.

"Sure, she has been with us for quite awhile now. In fact, this is her FOURTH cruise back to back."

The husband was astounded and when he had the chance to talk to the little old lady that evening he asked her why she was on the fourth cruise back to back.

"Well, you see, my husband passed away and I knew that I could not stay in that house where we had spent so many wonderful years together," said the little old lady. "I checked out assisted living in my area and was floored at the costs per month. It was well over $3000 per month and I could not afford that on my savings and retirement.

"I don't know what made me look into the cruise ship but I knew that I had loved the cruises that he and I went on in the past. So I called the cruise ship company and told them my situation. They told me that they could get below the $3000 per month by a substantial amount and with a senior's discount added I could move onto the cruise ship. And as they say the rest is history," she smiling said as she bid the husband and wife good bye.

The husband being curious about the little old lady and her cruise ship living began to inquire of the cruise shipping companies and found that what the little old lady said was absolutely true.

So as a former consumer investigative reporter for Post Newsweek TV I decided to do my own research. I have a partner who owns a travel agency and he has made me an associate agent.

My research has shown that cruise ships might be interested if there was enough demand for this type of living for seniors. I have started a blog at http://seniorscruiseshipliving.blogspot.com and if you are interested or might know someone that is interested have them go to the blog to learn more.

I know that there is a ship currently that sails around the world that offers condos starting at $1,500,000 and they are doing quite well. So it could be possible that for under $40,000 per year a senior might be able enjoy these same benefits.
