This habit will help you to see your more deeper and matured side. Besides that, it'll help you to take better decisions. You'll struggle with negative thoughts but remember, once you make this a habit, you'll fall in love with this practice. Gradually, as you know yourself, more closely and you're more aware about your strengths and weaknesses, you can use challenging and trying circumstances as self esteem tests. Face them bravely and take them as opportunities to boost your self-confidence. So will you face the challenges? You must, for yourself, for the inner you!
