~Seeing Memories~

How I love my ex…and everyone’s telling me to let go…I can’t…I remember all the awesome times we had…it was perfect
They all tell me to back off, let it be
But they don’t see what I can see
They can’t see the memories
Always shimmering
In my head.
And when I go to bed
Its relief
From all the thoughts singing in my head
And no belief.
When I lie down under the covers I can try
To dream of days gone by,
The words we said,
Every place we were lead,
The smiles,
Always lasting for miles and miles,
The troubles and strife
Of our young life,
What you helped me through,
I don’t think you ever knew
How much you saved me from myself.
You always made my eyes sparkle
But now my heart is turned to charcoal
And they tell me to back off, to let it be
But they can’t see what I can see.
