Schizophrenia
One of my better poems, I'd have to say.
If she were to reveal all that lurks inside
They would only stare with eyes open wide
The voices that haunt in her wake
Taunting her, wanting her to break
These delusions that mock reality
Only to tease her dim mentality
Paranoia is always on her mind
Thinking someone stalks not far behind
Would they believe if she were to explain
Or, would they say she's truly gone insane?
To her, they are the ones confused
While they sit there seemingly amused
"She's crazy!," they say
"Alert the doctors!," they say
"Ready the ward!,"they say
She is being stripped of her choices
Drugs are given to taint the voices
Sometimes she falls into a relapse
And again feels the wrath of life's grasp
They would only stare with eyes open wide
The voices that haunt in her wake
Taunting her, wanting her to break
These delusions that mock reality
Only to tease her dim mentality
Paranoia is always on her mind
Thinking someone stalks not far behind
Would they believe if she were to explain
Or, would they say she's truly gone insane?
To her, they are the ones confused
While they sit there seemingly amused
"She's crazy!," they say
"Alert the doctors!," they say
"Ready the ward!,"they say
She is being stripped of her choices
Drugs are given to taint the voices
Sometimes she falls into a relapse
And again feels the wrath of life's grasp
