Scarlett Johansson Marries Ryan Reynolds

Johansson, 23, and Reynolds, 31, were married Saturday evening at a wilderness resort near Vancouver, British Columbia. Johansson’s rep, Meredith O’Sullivan, did not provide any other details. The actress’ mother, Melanie Sloan, and brother, Adrian Johansson, were on hand for the festivities.

Johansson and Reynolds began dating in September 2007. They announced their engagement in May when she was spotted sporting a huge three-carat diamond ring at the Met Costume Ball Gala. Last month, Johansson said that the couple was in no rush to get married. She said, "We’re just enjoying our time. We’re just recently – very recently –engaged. So, you know, we’re just taking it easy. And no big plan yet. But it’s a good time and we’re just…enjoying our time to be young and engaged." She added, "I mean, I’m 23. There’s no reason to rush into it. Everything feels very natural and relaxed."

This is the first marriage for both Johansson and Reynolds. She has previously been romantically linked to Justin Timberlake, Benicio del Toro and Josh Hartnett. She most recently starred in the Woody Allen flick Vicky Cristina Barcelona and her film credits include The Horse Whisperer,The Prestige, The Other Boleyn Girl, and The Nanny Diaries. Reynolds was previously engaged to singer Alanis Morrisette. They began dating in 2002 and were engaged in 2004. They reportedly split briefly in July 2006 and then for good in February 2007. He starred in the television show Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place and movies including Van Wilder, Just Friends, and most recently Definitely, Maybe.
