Garter Stitch Scarf Knitting Pattern
Learning this stitch is like learning the basic knitting techniques to produce any sort of fabric. This stitch follows a side to side pattern and is great for beginners to start with. Take a look...
Materials Needed
- 2 balls crystal palace yarns (trio)
- A Pair of Needles size 15 US (10 mm) (circular needles 26'' long)
- 1 ball crystal palace yarns (fizz)
8'' wide X 60'' long.
Gauge
7 stitches = 4'' approximately. This is the total length of the scarf that you are going to knit side to side. That is number of stitches you cast on is counted as the length and not width.
Instructions
This is amongst those patterns which has one strand of trio and the other of fizz held both together throughout the process.
Cast on- 100 stitches (loosely) and continue knitting every single row till you run out of your yarn. Once this is done, bind off the yarn to end the knitting. Gently pull both the ends of the scarf to see its elasticity. Your scarf is ready to use.
Simple Lace Scarf Pattern
This scarf has quite of a narrow panel lace ribbing pattern. Personally speaking, if you use a teal green wool of 8 ply that would definitely look impressive and stunning from the bunch of other lace patterns. This is all the more difficult than a garter stitch scarf, but is much more challenging for a beginner to begin with.
Materials Needed
- 300 meters of 8 ply yarn
- A Pair of Needles of 5.00 mm (single pointed needles)
22 stitches and 27 rows for a 10 cm sq. The scarf would measure 200 cm long and 12 cm wide without fringes.
Instructions
Cast on- 31 sts.
Row 1: k1, *k2 tog, yon, k1, yon, SI 1, k1, psso, k3, rep from * to last 6 sts, k2 tog, yon, k1, yon. SI 1, k1, psso, k1.
Row 2: k1, p to last stitch, k1
Repeat 1st and 2nd rows till your work measures 200 cm. Bind off and end.
Simple Rib Scarf Pattern
Although this knitting pattern is more difficult than the garter stitch it isn't that complicated either. It has two by two rib pattern to begin with. Moreover it measures, 12 cm wide and 200 cm long without a fringe.
Materials Needed
- 500 meters of 8 ply yarn
- A Pair of Needles of 4.50 mm (single pointed needles)
36 stitches and 24 rows for a 10 cm sq. Measure your tension while the fabric is ribbed in resting state and not stretching the square while measuring.
Instructions
Cast on- 42 sts.
Row 1: k2, *p2, k2, rep from * to end.
Row 2: k1, p1, k2, *p2, k2 rep from * to last two sts, p1, k1.
Finally rep 1st and 2nd rows till your work measures 200cm. Bind off rib-wise.
