Scared Island Chapter 4

Please read.
He pulled me up. And pulled my arm and twisted my arm which forced me to turn. The pain seared through my body. It hurt. It hurt like crazy. The pain was so overwhelming that a scream rippled down my throat. Stop it my mind screamed. Was it just me or was I seeing fireworks, of different colors in my eyes, orange, yellow, red... Oooh it looks beautiful....
I felt myself hit something hard. It was enough for me to blank out.
*
I groaned. Something shifted behind me. I turned around immediately, startled only to find it was the maid she opened the heavy thick velvety curtains which completely blocked out sunlight if closed. Suddenly the events that had happened last night came running back to me. This was no time to sleep and enjoy the morning. The pain that I had felt last night came back. Crap, I gritted my teeth it hurt I examined my arms noticing the purple bruises. It was going to take a long time before it will go away and yep it was going to leave a mark. A horrible one that I would probably never get rid of.
I got up immediately and was about to ask something to the maid when she shut the big wooden doors in front of me. Oh great.

I slowly tittered back to the bed. I was mad. The hatred began forming in my chest again. The doors opened, letting out a big gust of cold wind I didn't even have to turn around to know who it was. It was him.
I stood up and turned. Wondering how many steps would it take for me to run past him and make it out of the door? Eight, nine, ten! I knew it I had to make a break for it. Ready Elaine, I had to try it. I looked down at my slippers once a beautiful green, was now a blood stained red. In a count of three I thought.
One...Two...Three- I ran, with all my might. I had to get there; I swear I can almost hear the hem of my dress rip. Oooh... Lady Garnerissa was going to be mad, take that Lady Garnerissa.

Apparently I was a tad bit slow because right when I was almost out of the door the door closed in front of me. No, I gasped and fell on to the ground.
I heard laughter behind me. I turned around and got up with one hand holding the dress I started walking faster towards him. Without a hint or a clue I slapped him. The laughter immediately stopped and replaced with a cold glare I almost feel the heat rising up inside of him. Without a warning he threw me on the floor. I spun and fell down, in a second he was in front of me. His foot went on top of my hand. Ahh.. I gripped my other hand it hurt. I heard one of my bones crinkle.
"You had no right to embarrass me last night!" he said tightly while glaring at me.
"You! Oh hell I would do anything to take that little reputation of yours and ruin it!" I yelled the cold words slashing across his face.
"You know what, you are going to be a nice little girl and marry that kings son now DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME!" he yelled.

"I would rather die than do what you say!" I hissed. The sweat from the pain now was running through my forehead.
He only grinned, "Oh you don't know what I am capable of, if I want I can have you thrown off to the sea where the sharks will do whatever they would want with you, so you better shut up and marry that man's son YOU GOT THAT! He is going to come here in a while so you better get ready and act like that little nice girl that I found seven years ago!!" he let go of me and walked out of the room.

I stared at the empty room. Why was this happening to me? I asked myself Why was I in the hand of this man!? But I had to play nice if I wanted to get out of this palace. Before I could get up the room was filled with about eight or ten maids who swarmed me getting me up. The maids cooed on how the man was handsome and how nice he was. Oh hell I didn't care how nice he was or how well he behaved I was just thinking of a way to get out of this horror.
I let the maids who apparently had nothing better than to gossip, do whatever they wanted to do with me without any protest. Like the lipstick they had put on me was way too red that I looked like a witch. While they did all that I tried to form a plan in my head on how to escape. An imaginary map of the palace was quickly forming in my head. The maids were finally done and they nudged me signaling me to stand up.

I stood up and looked at my reflection in the mirror I almost lost my balance. Who was that in the mirror? Definitely not me. Where was that dark haired girl whose curls were so unruly that they would practically have to be wrestled with to be fixed and defined into natural curls.
Where was the girl whose gray eyes were totally unnoticeable? Instead now face was replaced with dark defined curls that were out of the face making the gray eyes look stunning the red dress draped across my body enhanced the gray eyes. I lifted my bruised arm to see no bruise, what? Impossible.
Clearly the maids knew how to do their job well. I was so lost in myself that I couldn't hear the servants complimenting me they were clearly as stunned as I was. Their tired looks were replaced with wonder. One of the maids looked at the clock in the room and gasped. It was time. To meet him.
How much do you like this so far?
