Save Money with a Mattress Topper

If you can't afford a memory foam mattress a topper can be the next best thing.
A mattress is a necessity of life but purchasing a good one can set you back and leave a whole in your wallet especially if you've got to furnish a whole home. An alternative to splashing out on all new mattresses is to add toppers to them. Toppers are the same width as a mattress but only a fraction of the depth. They are placed on top of mattresses to give them added comfort. If you have a mattress that is old and dilapitated toppers can be ideal as they can help to give the mattress a new lease of life. If you have an old sprung mattress it is common for the springs to start pushing through the mattress and a topper can take some of the pressure which would otherwise be exerted on your back.

It may be a false economy as you may need a new mattress in the end but if you really can't afford a new one it will give you some time and cash to spare. Toppers are normally strapped to the mattress so that they don't move about through the night.

You can get toppers which are made of the same material as your mattress and you can also get them made from memory foam, a material which was created by NASA scientists in order to protect astronauts from G forces. Memory foam is named so due to its ability to memorize the contours of the body which aids in giving a more relaxing and nurturing sleep. If you can't quite afford a memory foam mattress then a bed topper made from such material can still give you some of the benefits.
