CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

(WENDY-ANNE'S P.O.V)

I had successfully lulled Xavier Wulfric into a false sense of security, that idiot actually thought that I cared for his precious little mate, as if. Thanks to his family I didn't love anyone and I probably never would, he destroyed my family and it has been a long time coming for them to get what they deserve. Now that he wrongly believed that I wouldn't harm Sarina, he won't always be watching her like he is at the moment and the second I get another chance I would then really start my plan. I could hardly wait till I got everything that was owed to me, most people would think why didn't I just destroy Sarina while I had her, my reasoning behind what I did is that it will hurt Xavier more if he knows that because he relaxed his guard of Sarina she died and that thought alone would torture him until I kindly put him out of his misery.

(SARINA'S P.O.V)

I had been back at Xavier's unit for a couple of hours now and after a quick nap I felt a little better, but I was an idiot. Xavier had got mad at me when I first found him but he hadn't said anything else since then about what happened and now that I could think straight I couldn't believe that I had been so stupid to go off with someone I didn't know and when I thought about it if the lady really was a friend of Xavier's I would have met her before last night. I couldn't believe I also missed the faint English accent she tried to hide. I am so embarrassed the pack must think that I am so stupid I bet none of them would have fallen for a trick like that no matter how drunk they were argh I am so stupid and I bet that as soon as Xavier came in he would remind me of how stupid I had been, like I needed him to tell me. I know that he was only worried about me but I had been looking after myself for as long as I could remember and although it was great to have someone finally to look after me, it was going to take me a while to get used to the idea. I heard the faint footsteps on the bottom of the stairs and I knew immediately that they were Xavier's, I held my breath as he reached the top where he just stood outside, but I knew that he was there and it was making me more nervous that he wasn't coming in.
"Come in Xavier"

(XAVIER'S P.O.V)

Sarina's hearing had defiantly gotten better since she got here because she shouldn't have even been able to tell that someone was coming up the stairs with her human hearing and she even knew that it was me. I slowly opened the door and watched as she subconsciously shrunk back from me; the thought of her being scared of me upset me. I had never experienced such fear as when I realized she was missing it was the single most terrifying thing that had ever happened to me
"Baby, are you feeling better?" she looked at me confused
"I'm fine... I'm so sorry that I went with her I should have known better, I wasn't thinking straight and I feel like an idiot I'm sorry" I walked over to her and hugged her tightly putting everything I felt for her into that hug
"Sarina I am so sorry that I went mad at you earlier it's just that I was so frightened that I wouldn't be finding you alive"
"I'm so sorry I was so stupid to go with her"

"Sarina it is my fault I haven't really told you that much about my life, so how were you to know that it wasn't a real game or a tradition" she shook her head
"I should have just thought about it" I turned her face up to mine
"Sarina, it's okay. We were both in the wrong, so why don't we leave it at that?"
"Okay sounds like a plan"
"Oh by the way were leaving this afternoon so we can go and visit the family I can't wait to introduce you to them"
"Now I'm scared what if they hate me baby?" I laughed
"Sarina we had this argument before they are going to love you but if you disagree why don't we wait till tomorrow to find out?... but just remember I know them better than you do" she laughed a true laugh for the first time in what seemed a lifetime
"I agree that we will find out tomorrow".

(SARINA'S P.O.V)

The rest of the day went fairly quickly and between all the packing and sorting everything out by the time I looked at the clock again we had half an hour till we planned for the Hummer to arrive.
"Hey baby I am just going to go have a shower and get ready okay?" Xavier smiled and kissed me on the cheek
"Okay babe want me to join you?" I couldn't help but laugh at his flirting
"I think I can manage on my own but thanks for the offer darling" he laughed
"It was worth a try X" Angus said as all the boys laughed
"I know I just am hoping that one of these days she will surprise me and say yes to something like that" I laughed
'If I did you wouldn't know what to do with yourself Darling" they all laughed again, X pretended to think seriously for a second
"Your right sweetie I wouldn't" I laughed as I leant in and kissed him lightly on the cheek as I turned to head out of the room I said
"Well I better keep saying no then." I heard the boys laugh.

We were about two hours into the drive back to the pack's home and throughout the trip they all gave me a little more insight into the way they lived and the different things they did for example every year all werewolves in the country came to the kings property and participated in a four-day hunt, for some Were's this was the only time when they could truly be themselves. I would have loved to get to see all these different things the way they described them it sounded amazing and who knows maybe one day I would get to see one of these traditions in action.
"Hey Sarina you will be here in time for the annual Princes feast" it was almost as if Xenara read my thoughts, I caught X giving her a strange look but I ignored him I wanted to know more about this feast even if Xavier didn't want to involve me I still wanted to know all about their way of life

"What happens at this feast Xen?" she ignored X and spoke to me
"Well every year we celebrate the princes birthday, the king and queen put on a huge feast and every Were in the area is invited and after dinner we dance and it's always a good night, you will love it" I smiled the evening did sound like it would be amazing
"Wow it sounds like you guys will have a good time" now X who had been staring intently at Xen turned to me
"Would love to go but I don't really think it's a place for me"
"Sure it is you're my mate you're coming.... if you want to that is" I laughed
"Uh ha and what will the prince think of you just inviting a human girl" I realized everyone was looking at Xavier and I strangely
"The prince will love you trust me and besides it has always been and will always be a rule that any Were's mate is invited even if they remain human" I smiled then turned to everyone else who suddenly all resumed their conversations
"Well if your sure I'm allowed to I would love to" I hugged him and I couldn't contain my excitement I was going to a feast an actually feast.

(XAVIER'S P.O.V)

I could hear the pack's questions running through my mind, they had found out that Sarina didn't know that I was the prince yet, I didn't like lying to her but I wanted her to meet my parents without being a nervous wreck, she was worried enough about just meeting my parents imagine how bad she would be if she knew she was meeting my parents the king and queen and if she relaxed and was herself I knew my parents would love her, well they would love her regardless.

'It's not lying guys it's just an omission of a fact' I could tell that none of them really agreed with me 'guys if she was to ask me about the king and queen or about the prince I would tell her, I just don't want her to be even more nervous then she already is about meeting my parents she has this belief that no parents will like her" I could tell that they all knew I was keeping something back and some of the girls knew she was adopted and they guessed that it had something to do with that, but the rest didn't ask they felt that if Sarina wanted to talk about it she would. I looked at my clock and worked out that we had about an hour left in the trip, once we got there I would take Sarina to my place so she could get a good nights rest before she had to meet my parents, find out I was the prince and attend a feast in my honour. As the feast was to honour me and she was my mate she would be the most important guest of honour on par with the king and the queen and then in a few days time there would be a ball in honour of me finding my mate. The ball was another tradition of our people, every time a were found there mate their family planned a ball for them usually in the royal ballroom unless they were from a rich family and had their own ballroom, all Were's that knew the family were invited, and as all Were's are fairly close as we tend to stick together it is usually quiet a big turn. The ball was a way for family and friends to wish the couple luck, to meet the Were's mate and to show their support for the relationship.
