Sarina & Xavier's Story - Chapter Twenty Four

Hey everyone so sorry it took me soo long to post it has been crazy. I'm really sorry that this post is so short and kind of boring I'm pretty sick atm but I will post again soon to make up for it all thanks for reading Em xox.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

I couldn't believe how amazing this place was that Xavier and his friends lived in. It was almost like a little country town everybody knew everybody and they all looked out for each other, it was almost as if they were all one big family and I guess the kind of are. It was pretty obvious that everyone respected Xavier and his family because other than his friends everyone else always bowed their head or they fully bowed, it really freaked me out at first having all these strangers bowing every time Xavier and I walked by. Xavier also hated it (he told me this morning before we went to his parents for breakfast) but he took it in his stride and he ensured that he greeted each and every person and had a small conversation with them, when I asked him why everyone bowed to him he told me that his family was a very old and respected.

We had gone to meet his parents this morning for breakfast at a little café run by one of their friends, I had been so nervous on the way over but after a few minutes talking to them, I relaxed, his parents were lovely. His dad Ricardus or Rick as he told me to call him was a funny man, almost everything he said made me laugh and he was also very kind, Aweline or Lin as I was to call her was so gentle and caring, both parents thought the world of Xavier and apparently they both really liked me. I couldn't believe it when Xavier told me on our way home that they both loved me and were so happy he had found such an amazing mate, having parents like me wasn't something that happened very often to me in fact apart from Charles and Sarah I couldn't think of any other parents that liked me.

"Sarina!" Xavier was waving his hand in front of my face, from the tone of his voice I could tell that it wasn't the first time he had tried to get my attention
"Yes darling?" he smiled indulgently at me
"I was just asking you if you had a dress ready for this evening?" I gasped, I had totally forgotten about the ball for the prince's birthday, in fact I was so tired yesterday that I couldn't remember the conversation I apparently had with Xavier last night after his parents left. He seemed so shocked when I asked him this morning when we would meet the prince but I couldn't understand why, I think everything is starting to catch up with me because the last couple of days I have started to forget things, it started off with simple things like forgetting I had replied to a text message and even when the other person replied and I saw the last message I sent them I couldn't remember writing or sending it but now I was forgetting whole conversations, hopefully it would pass soon because I hated not remembering things, hopefully Xavier and I didn't talk about anything important last night.

"I'll take that as you don't have a dress?" I quickly focused back on Xavier
"I'm sorry it didn't even cross my mind that I would be attending something like this" he laughed at my obviously flustered demeanor, I would have laughed to if I wasn't so worried about finding something to wear at a royals birthday party
"Don't worry darling you can take my car and go shopping in town I would take you but I have to help set up for the ball"
"Why do you have to help?" she laughed lightly and kissed me on the cheek
"Mum asked me to, she likes to be involved in the planning of events around here" I hesitated for several seconds, I didn't want to drive his car because I had a feeling that it would be worth a lot more than any I had ever driven before and also I didn't know where to go, but then I thought of not having anything nice to wear when I met the royal family

"But I feel bad driving your car" he rolled his eyes and grabbed my hand as he snatched my handbag off the bench and lead me to his garage and opened the door inside there was four cars, but my eyes went straight to the Holden SS V Ute that was in the middle, it was purple. I had dreamed of getting one of those but they had been way out of my price range, as I looked at it I had to ensure my jaw didn't fall open.
"So which one did you want to take?" I quickly took my eyes off the Ute and looked at the other cars, there was a Bugatti Veyron I only knew about it because I watched a documentary a few weeks ago on the most expensive cars and this one had taken first place along with the first place prize of the fastest legal car, there was no way I was driving that. Then there was my dream car the Ute, the next car was a Ferrari F430 spider, I also only knew that one by luck, since a guest came in one day driving it and C who I had been having lunch with at the time commented that it was her dream car. The last car which was parked further away from where we were standing at least looked like it was within my price range was an older 4WD it was in good condition.

"I'll take that one I said pointing to the old 4WD" Xavier laughed
"How did I know you would pick that one" I smiled and laughed
"Because you know what I'm like" he laughed but as I started towards the car he gentle grabbed my arm and pulled me back towards him.
"Sorry to disappoint you darling but that one is temporarily out of order" I looked at him
"You serious?"
"Sure am, I'm sorry I have been meaning to get round to getting it fixed"

"Well with all these other options I can see why it takes so long" he smiled
"Well I guess you will have to pick another one darling" I shook my head because although I would love to drive any of these cars there was no way I was going to take one into town and leave it in the car park while I shopped, besides I didn't want to touch a car that if anything happened to it while I was driving I couldn't afford to fix and with the other cars I didn't even think I could afford a tyre let alone any damage that may occur. Xavier groaned
"It's not my fault you're so rich" he sighed

"Well since I'm that rich I don't care what happens to these cars" I looked at him stunned, he just sounded like a spoilt brat when he said that and I think he realized cause he blushed and quickly said
"I didn't mean it like that Sarina, I just wish you would stop worrying I trust your driving if I didn't I would not have offered you my car" I didn't want to argue and since the ball started in a few hours and I still didn't have anything to wear
"Fine I'll take the Ute" he smiled
"Good I'll just get the keys for you" he walked over to the other side of the wall to where several sets of keys hung, as he was getting the keys I said under my breath,
"I might as well get a chance to drive my dream car" he smiled over his shoulder at me

"This is your dream car" I laughed
"I forgot about your super hearing but yes it is my dream car and purple is my favorite color" he looked thoughtful for a while but when he didn't say anything I asked him
"What's wrong?"
"I was just thinking about the day I bought this car. I didn't know why I bought it just that I was driving round with my friends one day and I saw it and thought I must have it. I made Angus pull up at the car dealers and I just bought it. Don't get me wrong I like the car and everything but I hadn't thought about buying one and I definitely wouldn't have bought it in purple." I laughed as I took the keys off him kissing him lightly
"You bought it because you knew when I saw it I would fall more in love with you" he laughed as I walked towards the car, he hit himself lightly on the forehead with the palm of his hand

"Of course it is how could I forget it's not like I bought the car before I met you or anything" I laughed as I got into the car, I felt more relaxed about driving it now and I would just have to be extra careful and try to get my shopping done quickly. I blew him a kiss as I started up the car, he pretended to catch it and then he mouthed 'I love you' to me. I was smiling as I drove out of his garage, into the beautiful spring day. I couldn't help but think it was my twenty-first birthday in three days, I hadn't told any of my new friends because I didn't want them to fuss and besides when I went home next week C and my friends from work would have something planned and I did most certainly not need two celebrations.
