Sarah Palin will Campaign for Democrats

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is resigning the governorship, but she says that she plans to travel the country speaking on behalf of candidates who share her beliefs, even if they're Democrats.
Most Democrats would probably decline a Sarah Palin offer to speak on their behalf, given her lack of popularity with democratic voters. But Palin is open to every potential means of making a positive impact for the things that she believes in. And, much like the current President Barack Obama, Palin seems most interested in change and mixing things up in the political circles that rule our nation.

Palin stated that she "will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," in an interview with the Washington Times. Taking such an approach will allow her to distinguish herself from other conservative candidates who will be forced to play within rigid party guidelines when speaking publicly. Palin will have the flexibility to break with the right when she doesn't agree, but it will be interesting to see how far she would be willing to push it.

And in the shadow of Palin is her grandson's daddy, Levi Johnston. He is riding Palin's resignation to a new level of fame for himself as his comments on her motives have put him on televisions and magazine covers around the country.

Johnston sat down with Ann Curry on The Today Show and quietly repeated what he had said already: that he believes Palin left the governorship to pursue lucrative television and book deals. I still don't understand why that opinion is news. Of course that was part of her decision. Why wouldn't it be?
