Bullock’s request for a temporary restraining order against Marcia Valentine was granted Tuesday by Orange County Superior Court Judge John Watson. Bullock, James, and his three sons were all listed on the order which prevents Valentine from coming within 500 yards of the family, their homes, cars, schools, or places of work. The order also prohibits Valentine from making direct or indirect contact with anyone of them and also prohibits her from owning firearms.
Bullock says that Valentine has harassed the family numerous times when she has trespassed on their property and has also reportedly thrown "numerous signs and other objects over their gate." On April 22, James found Valentine lying in front of the couple’s garage door at their home in Seal Beach, California. When he told her to leave, Valentine got into her 2004 silver Mercedes and tried to back over James about three to four times before finally taking off. Bullock and James’ 10-year old son, Jesse Jr., witnessed the incident.
Valentine was the following day on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after police spotted her car cruising near Bullock and James’ home. James did an "in-field" lineup and identified Valentine as the person who tried to run him over. She was then taken to and booked at the Orange County Woman’s jail. No formal charges have been filed against Valentine yet, but there is a May 22 hearing scheduled to address the car assault charges. Reportedly, Valentine can appear in court on May 11 to challenge the restraining order.
