An exciting look into the scientific practice of Web Design.
Web design isn’t just about pretty graphics and impressive animation. A good Web design that performs is based on ample planning and research. Variations that count are based on typography location and weight of graphics, as well as the state of mind that the average Web page visitor is in upon visit. Most important of all, how you rank high on search engines is critical for Web site success.

The first part is the real dirty work, which is market research. You need to research keywords and phrases that have a good balance of high volume search and competition density. The keywords that you choose can be synonymous. For example, for a Web site design firm’s Web site, the keywords chosen can be Web site development or Web page construction. The density is the number of Web pages that are listed in the search engine for the particular keyword or keyword phrase that you choose.

Next, the page design is the fun part. This is a free ring if you like to play with graphics. As long as you present your Web page content in a clear and easy to understand fashion, there are no rules about how to do this. During my college days studying for a BBA in marketing, I worked under a professor, who specialized in research of human computer interaction of Web page design. I learned how to combine the psychological models of marketing and how to apply them under the professor’s guidance. The results were phenomenal and I went on to earn an MBA and start my own Internet business firm for marketing and Web Design, in San Antonio.

My approach to building a Web design is methodical. It involves analytical approaches to researching the perfect balance of keywords and phrases that yield the optimal results of search engine placement and user ability.
