Samuel's Love - Ch.2

Just like Samantha's Love, in Samuel's perspective...Sam gets into an accident!
A knocking noise woke me up. I quickly got out of my lazy boy and went to the door. I opened it and there stood Todd.

"Hey, it looks like you just woke up." Todd smiled.

"Yeah, was tired from work. I'm ready whenever you are." I said.

"We're leaving in five minutes, you look like you need fresh clothes." he eyeballed me.

"Let me get dressed then." I slowly said and walked to my bedroom. I found an AC/DC shirt and a pair of holey jeans, slipped a pair of shoes on and went back to Todd. "Let's get rolling."

I threw my bags in the backseat of Todd's Grand Cherokee. We got in and Todd started his vehicle.

Seeing the familiar sights of houses, streams, and utilities buildings on the way to our camping spot. A '93 Chevy truck pulled out behind us; Joe. I sighed heavily and Todd coughed.

"What do you want?" I demanded.

"What's wrong. You seem tensed." Todd said.

"It's Joe; why do we allow him to camp with us? He always bitch and complains about previous women and jobs. Now his girlfriend dumped him and lost his job." I held back anger.

"We're like brothers to him. We can't dump him off." Todd strongly said.

I looked out the window, hoping the trip is worthwhile. All I have left is my job, home, and my friends.

We got to camp; and we quickly got our camping gear set up. Joe fixes the tents, Todd got the fire roasting, and I gathered up everything to put in the tents.

"Todd, do you know we're supposed to have a nasty storm this afternoon." I said.

"Yeah, I'm going to get the rain gear out here shortly." Todd sighed.

"You better do it quickly." Joe shouted. "Here comes the rain!"

It started to pour. Todd ran to his truck to get his rain gear. Joe hammering to keep the tent stable. Todd came back with arm full of gear.

"Here's ponchos and tarps to keep the rain off the tents." Todd said, trying to breathe.

I said screw the poncho, I ran to the tent to fix the tents for the rain. I hardly can see the ground. There has to be about two inches already the past couple of minutes. I got around the tent and slid on some mud. A very steep hill behind me, went sliding down the hill.

I tried to grab a hold of bushes or tree stumps, nothing. I didn't dare to yell for the sake of mud getting in my mouth. I turned my body around so I can actually see, ending up I hit my head off the stump.

I finally stopped into some bushes. I let out a hard sigh and closed my eyes. My head killing me, and my body numb. Feeling the rain hitting my face, starting to drizzle away. I fell unconscious.
