Samsung M7600 Beat DJ - Let the DJ Play Some Music

Meet the first DJ phone in the world, the all new Samsung M7600 Beat DJ was released in May, earlier this year. The first thing that quickly draws your attention is it's unconventional looking design with distinct rounded edges. With a body made of high grade material, the unit has been exquisitely designed with attractive looking violet colour panels on the sides. The weight of this device is just under 100 grams which means that it's enough light and handy to carry along.

This quad-band GSM unit comes with a 2.8 inches medium-sized AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. It's loaded with a built-in accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate. The internal memory of this phone is 50MB with a capability to extend up to 16GB by using microSD cards. Some promotions and reviews have mentioned that the standard package comes with an 8GB microSD card. It's possible to store up to 1000 contacts in the phone-book memory. This impressive unit is powered by a standard Li-Ion battery that gives a talk time of over 4 hours and a standby time of up to 300 hours when using the phone in 3G service.

The main feature of the Samsung M7600 Beat DJ is it's advanced capabilities for music playback. It comes with an inbuilt software where amateur Djs can remix different tracks by mixing, adding effects and scratching. The Beat DJ application is assisted by a special ICEpower amplifier, built-in stereo speakers, virtual surround sound, a 3.5mm audio socket and a specially designed music playback interface called the DISC UI.

This unique device also sports a 3.15 mega pixel camera with auto-focus on it's back. The added advantage of an LED flash lets one shoot even in bad light conditions. Added camera features include Geo-tagging, face and smile detection. Moreover the camera is capable of recording videos of decent quality in VGA mode @15fps. Interestingly a secondary camera is also provided in the front for video and photo calls. Loaded with Class10 GPRS and EDGE, this phone gives excellent access to Internet by using the built-in WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML web browser. This one's a Bluetooth and USB enabled device which ensures that one can share data and transfer files to and from it in a very convenient and cost effective way. Moreover 3G service allows high speed HSDPA to download files and data from the web. This device comes with a built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support which synchronises with the provided Google Maps application.

The media player is capable of playing a plethora of file formats that include DivX, XviD, WMV and MP4 formats. There is also a mp3 player to play favourite music tracks.
