Chapter One
Artemis's P.O.V
I was in a dark room. I got up and walked feeling the walls to make sure I didn't fall. I found the light switch and turned it on. It was a living room like any other except it had an edgy mood. The walls were stained with blood, the pictures were crooked, and yet I felt that I belonged here. I noticed a picture that was on one of the corner tables. It wasn't stained or crumpled up as the rest were. Sort of like the last intact remain that was left after a fire. It stood there beckoning me to get closer. As I walked towards I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Behind you!!!" a guy screamed.
The hand on my shoulder pushed me with excessive force and I fell onto the couch. My head made a thump as it came in contact with the arm of the couch. My head started hurting. My vision - now blurry - was able to make out what was happening. The mysterious guy that had appeared out of nowhere was now fighting with the attacker. The attacker kept throwing punches but the guy blocked each one. I got up slowly realizing that there was a yellow light surrounding the guy. He kicked the attacker in the groin and then followed with a punch to the head.
The attacker raised his head from the ground and said, " You got lucky this time."
The alarm woke me up. Well that was a strange dream. I got up. I got dressed in a purple plaid button down shirt with some black skinny's and my purple vans. I said good morning to my mom and headed to my car to go to school. My brother had already left. I had a weird feeling. I guess that dream must have shaken me up but all I thought about was the attacker saying " You got lucky this time" as opposed to saying " You got lucky" as if he was coming for me again. I shuddered and got that out of my mind. I saw my friend Elizalyn and got out of my car to walk over to her.
"Hey did you hear about that new kid that was coming today?" she asked.
"Uh no and a Hello would have been nice." I said.
"Well, someone is in a cranky mood today." She said.
"I'm sorry. I didn't have a good night. I had the strangest dream." I replied.
As we walked to our first period I told her about the dream.
"That was a weird dream. I wonder what it meant. I'll look it up first thing as soon as I go home." She said.
We entered the classroom and sat down in our usual seats. The teacher began his lesson on the sun and moon's energy. I was surprisingly eager to learn about this today. I was writing down some notes when I heard the door open. I looked up and saw a guy strolling in as if he owned the place. I could already tell he was arrogant. I had to admit he was handsome. He was tall and had a nice build. His hair was ashy blonde and his eyes were a golden brown. And he looked...familiar.
Aidan's P.O.V.
As usual all the kids were looking at me. I could tell this was just another stereotyped highschool.
"Class. This is our new student Aidan Maslow. Please sit down and take notes."
I sat down next to the window. I had noticed a certain girl looking up at me. Confusion was all over her face. That was different. All of them usually looked up at me with interest and hunger as if I were a new chew toy and everyone wanted a turn. She looked down and didn't look up anymore. The class was about the sun and moon. How ironic. I thought. The humans didn't need to worry about anything except what they should wear, say, who to hang out with, and who your enemy is. It disgusts me. They don't realize that their very existence is at danger. Of course I should be out there in space fighting but no the council had to send me here to find our "Salvation". Please what could she do when all she probably worried about was her make-up. I rolled my eyes. And how the heck am I supposed to find her. All they said is "You'll know when it's necessary." What's that supposed to mean.
"Mr. Maslow." the teacher said.
I looked up realizing the teacher called me.
"Yes." I replied with boredom visible in my voice.
"The purpose of coming to school is to pay attention at what they are teaching you." He said.
"I thought the purpose of coming to school was to learn and make something out of yourself." I responded.
"Mr. Maslow being the new student doesn't give you advantages. You are to have a 250 word essay on how the sun and moon work together to provide us with our needs by tomorrow. Take this as a warning. Don't let this happen again." He warned.
I rolled my eyes. Nice. It's my first day here and I'm given warnings already. Fortunately all the classes went by and it was time for lunch already. Time for "Salvation" searching. Now I knew she had deep blue eyes since she was a child of the moon. I figured not that many girls would have deep blue eyes. I used my super vision to see if any had deep blue eyes. I hid behind a wall knowing my eyes would turn yellow as soon as I used my super vision. I had to work on that. I noticed 4 girls already. I was looking around when I noticed the girl in my astronomy class. She had deep blue eyes too.
Artemis's P.O.V.
I was thinking about the new guy Aidan when Elizalyn broke me away from my thoughts.
"So we hadn't had a chance to talk about the new guy. Did you see him?! God he was GORGEOUS!!!" she said.
She exaggerated the word. I could obviously see that he was rude, arrogant, and obnoxious but I felt drawn to him and he was so familiar like I had met him before. I looked up feeling stared at and sure enough I was. Aidan was looking right at me. I felt like he was looking at me up close though when he was actually 7 feet away. Instead of looking away though I stared right at him showing him I wasn't intimidated. Just then my brother, Ademir, came and sat down next to him so I had to look away. Yeah I know we have weird names.
"Hey. Looks like the new guy has his eyes on you already. Do you want me to go over to him and beat him up?" he asked jokingly.
"Can you stop calling him that?! He has a name." I replied frostily.
For some reason I was suddenly annoyed.
"Sorry sis. I didn't know you were on a name basis with him. When did you talk to him?" he asked.
"I haven't but people have their names you know." I replied.
I looked over at Aidan. He had sat down and stopped staring at me. Of course all the stuck up girls were already sitting next to him. I saw Natalia - the most hated girl in my world - sit down on his lap. I suddenly felt furious. I started feeling cold and I was glowing in a blue light. What the hell!
"Whoa! Did you just growl? OMG! Are you glowing?!" Elizalyn just said in an astonished voice.
Everybody in the lunchroom turned around to stare at me. What was happening to me? I got up and started running towards the girls bathroom. I was just about to open the door when I felt a hand grab me and I was instantly warm.
Aidan's P.O.V.
I couldn't believe I found our "Salvation" and it just had to be that girl. I saw her get up and leave so I followed her. She was about to enter the girls bathroom when I grabbed her. Honestly I wouldn't have cared if she went inside. I still would have gotten her. Now all I have to do is explain everything to her without freaking her out. No problem! I thought.
"It's okay. This is completely normal." I said to her.
"What! Are you crazy?! This is not normal! Nobody glows blue light or feels really cold! And I mean cold enough to freeze you and I didn't freeze!!!" she ranted.
I chuckled.
"This is isn't funny! Anyway, why aren't you staring at me weird like everyone else?" she continued.
"You're right. It isn't funny. What I meant to say is that this is normal for our kind." I said.
"What do you mean "our kind"?" she quoted.
She seemed to calm down because she wasn't glowing. I wonder what caused it. It's usually a powerful feeling.
"I mean our kind as in the Encanto. We're an ancient race that lives in the galaxy. We each have powers that goes accordingly to our home planet." I explained.
She just looked at me as if I were a psycho.
"Okay what are you on? Crack, coke, marijuana, weed,..." she kept going on.
"No no, it's true you glow blue because your home planet is the moon." I said.
"Art! Art?! Hey! Are you okay?" some guy said coming from around the corner.
"Yeah. I'm fine. I think I'm going home." She said.
"Whose this?" I ask a bit arrogantly.
"This is Ademir, my brother." She said.
I raised an eyebrow.
"So you have the moon's power too. Are you two twins?" I asked.
Ademir gave me weird look that I was so used to.
"So what planet did you come from and no we're not twins. Why do you ask?" he asked.
I was surprised.
"So you know about the Encanto?" I asked.
"Yes in fact, I'm one of the elders." He replied.
Instead of me helping the girl I'm more confused then ever. How can the boy be an elder?
