Salma Hayek & Beau Split
It has been confirmed that actress Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault have called off their engagement and parted ways after two years and one daughter together.

Hayek, 41, and Pinault, 45, recently split without giving any reason for calling off their engagement. Hayek’s rep said, "We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been cancelled. There will be no further comment." The couple had a very low profile romance until they announced their engagement and her pregnancy in March 2007. At the time her rep released the following statement, "Businessman, Francois-Henri Pinault, and his fiancée, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce they are expecting the arrival of their first child."
The couple welcomed daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault last September. This is the first child for Hayek who said that she had a very difficult pregnancy. She also revealed that she suffered from diabetes during her pregnancy. When little Valentina was born Hayek said that she had wanted a little boy. She said at the time, "Probably because I was afraid. I think women suffer a bit more than boys, and there is always conflict between mothers and daughters." She added, "Now that she’s here, I’m so happy she’s a girl. And I can’t imagine there ever being a conflict between us because I’m in a state of innocence where I love everything she does."
Hayek and Pinault first met in Venice in May 2006. He is the CEO of the luxury goods firm PPR, which owns Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, a French department store named Printemps, and a national music chain FNAC. He has two children from a previous marriage. Hayek dated actor Edward Norton from 1999-2003. She then dated actor Josh Lucas for a year before the couple called it quits in 2004.
