Sad Song
A poem of lost love.
A broken heart, a sad love song
Two right people now so wrong,
Lonely eyes, and a darkened soul
Pieces were lost, never again to be whole.
She sits and stares and wonders why
When shes alone she still cries,
Telling eyes are hard to hide
He knows she still hurts inside.
A few tears fall, a memory erased
A little hole left in its place,
A bottle of whiskey to numb the pain
Drink by drink to forget his name.
But there it is still on her tongue
The same sad song still being sung.
Two right people now so wrong,
Lonely eyes, and a darkened soul
Pieces were lost, never again to be whole.
She sits and stares and wonders why
When shes alone she still cries,
Telling eyes are hard to hide
He knows she still hurts inside.
A few tears fall, a memory erased
A little hole left in its place,
A bottle of whiskey to numb the pain
Drink by drink to forget his name.
But there it is still on her tongue
The same sad song still being sung.
