Sacred Island End of Chapter 4
Please read TELL ME HOW I CAN IMPROVE IT!!!!!
The ladies in waiting escorted me through the dark hallway. I was exhausted and felt like falling asleep right there with everyone staring at me.
But I had to get over this. If acted like I was really interested in this thing then I they would probably not notice anything and figure out what I was up to.
Suddenly the dark hallways disappeared and in its place lay a bright sunny room. The ladies rushed to open the door for me.
Oh great. I took a deep breath, and stuck my chest out. I had to make this good.
I opened my eyes into a room which took my breath away it was beautiful, white cushion, white bed, white everything! I felt like I was in heaven.
I was driven back to reality when I heard the doors shut behind me with a swish of warm air.
I looked around, where was he?
I cleared my throat and said "Um- Hello!" still there was no reply. I looked around once again and I say another door. The study. He must be there. I started walking slowly towards it. I didn't realize why but I was suddenly nervous.
I reached the door and I was about to knock when the door opened suddenly, revealing him. I was almost knocked out of my breath when I saw him. Dark blue eyes stared at me, one of his hair had somehow found its way on his right eye. His hair was black. I almost tried to resist smelling him up and down he smelled like the forest, and nothing like the men here at the palace who wore harsh smelling colognes which made me gag when they came near. He was tall about an inch or two taller than me, and looked about a year older than me.
His face looked like he was so stunned to see me. Oh no. did I already do something wrong.
"Oh- um did I dis-"
"NO- not at al-"
"I am so so-"
"Don't b-"
"I should g"
I didn't realize why but I felt like I had to get away from there. I didn't like what I was feeling. I had to get away from here.
As I was about to turn around, I felt his hand grip mine.
"No please don't go. I am sorry I reacted this way" he said I didn't realize that he looked very nervous too.
I pulled my hand away. I was suddenly angry. All men wanted this. I was a foolish to think he was different than everyone. But he was a friend of the foolish king.
"Don't touch me!" I said loudly pulling my hand stiffly away from him.\
His face looked shocked and put his hand up defensively.
"You know what I am out here" I said suddenly all the thoughts of making this good just disappeared in a poof! I started walking towards the door.
He ran towards the door out of nowhere and locked it standing in front of it and with a glare daring me to push him out of the way.
"Look, I don't know what I did wrong but you can't leave right now!" he said his eyes were replaced with anger.
"Look you d-"
His hand flew across my mouth.
"Mmmmm...lemme mo" I tried to get his hand away from my mouth but it wouldn't even budge and inch.
He leaned across me. His face was just an inch away from mine.
"Look you better act like everything is okay between us, because judging from your reaction you don't like me and you may be happy to know that I don't like you either. So just shut up and let's get through this. Now they are right outside the door you know so we better stay in here for like an hour and let them know everything his good between us!"
He let go of me suddenly.
I was almost knocked of my feet with the force that he had.
I clutched to the window sill which surprisingly wasn't broken because my head was leaning against I so hard.
He walked to the bed and sat down at the edge and just stared at me. Growing uncomfortable I shifted on one leg to the other. Oh great.
"It's so surprising that a girl as beautiful as you can even fight back to a man, what happened to being all shy and all when you are in front of the man you are betrothed to?"
I looked at him "You know just because a lady is beautiful doesn't mean she has to have a brain of a rat."
"You have a big mouth too." He said with a smirk.
I rolled my eyes, not uncomfortable anymore and went to sit by the window where a chair lay beautifully embroidered in white satin.
"So what was that about last night? You know at dinner" he asked curiously.
My cheeks turned red, I didn't realize how everyone else at the dinner table must have reacted to my uproar. "None of your business."
"You know if we are getting married you are going to have to tell me what that was about eventually."
I looked at him straight in the eye. "We are not going to be married." I was shocked how strict my voice sounded.
There was no reply. He was silent for a moment.
