Sacred Island Chapter 5

Plz read:)
I looked up at him curiously. Why wasn't he saying anything back? He wasn't looking at me anymore instead he had somehow gotten up from the bed and stood beside a painting of the stupid king. All of a sudden I was mad. Again. "What do you mean?" I asked. I stood up and walked up to him not wanting to get too close in fear of feeling that odd feeling that was making the hair on my back stick up whenever I got too close to him.

"You kn- Look I don't know I hate this as much as you hate it. Running away from this can get both of us killed. We can't avoid it. There is no way, and I have checked every possible way to escape but all of them have a dead end in which we will probably be hanged or imprisoned." He said all at once, he wasn't looking at me. Shocked by what he just said.
"You want to escape too?" I asked kind of surprised.
"Yes. You don't know how much I hate this. My own father, who wants to use me to get himself richer." He looked away from the painting and turned away from me. His hands were clutched tightly I could see the whites in his skin.

There was a silence.
Then he said something that surprised me even more. "I hate him. I hate him so much." He said it like it pained him to even think about it, almost like it was hurting him by just thinking about his own father. I didn't know that anyone could hate their father so much.

All of a sudden what I was feeling just two minute ago disappeared. I put my hand around his arms, the touch was like an electric shock, I pulled him towards me so we were facing each other eye to eye. The pain and emotion I saw in his eyes were so great that I felt like I could feel everything he was feeling. I wanted to say everything was okay and everything was going to be all right. But the problem was that I knew that nothing was alright. In fact everything was just starting.
"So what you are you thinking?" I whispered to him my tone no longer harsh but kind of comforting. He didn't say anything for a while.

"I think we should get married" he said looking at me the pain was gone now.
My hands dropped from his shoulder and this time I turned around. "I can't... I mean we can't......we don't even know each other's." I said my hands were clasped in front of me.
"It's just for a little while, well until I become king and you become queen. Then we can do anything we want. I will let you go. You won't be harmed and you can do anything as you wish. But until then we have to go along their plan. " He said from behind me.
I started to see his plan in my head. Maybe, I could be free, I could live as I wish, I can even get revenge on what they had done to my family. I turned around. "How are we going to do this?" I asked him.

He looked at me, then said "Well, first of all you have to say yes, to them about marrying me and we just go along with what they have in store for us. Then after we are married you can come with me to my palace at Hartesburg, after our coronation we can do whatever we want then you can leave and our marriage will no longer be valid, but until then no one, I mean no one can know of this." He said calmly while the whole time looking at me.
"Are you sure this is going to work, I mean how do I know that you are not with the king" I asked simply.

He looked exhausted. "If I were with the king then would I've told you what I just told you about my father?". He said.
Well he had a point about that I looked at him again. I could trust him I don't know why I just said that but there was something that made me trust him. He a man that I have never met, but it was a risk, I was willing to take.
"Fine, I will agree to marry you but, I have to have proof that I will be able to leave after I am the queen or do whatever I please." I said.
He just looked at me for a moment. Then reached around his neck and unlatched a necklace he was wearing. It was nothing made of gold, instead it was a silver string with a sapphire stone dangling in it was something scripted. He took it off and took my hand and put it in there.

"This. I am going to give you this as my promise to you that you can leave me after we are married. Its my mother's, she gave it to me on the night she died." He said sternly.
I looked at the necklace it was about the most gorgeous think I have seen in my entire life. But I didn't understand what the engraving on the stone meant. After he gave me the necklace, without another word he said. "We have to go , or they will be starting to worry or be getting suspicious."
I just nodded. Clasping the necklace tightly in my hands we took our leave.
Again. How was it? If you hav any suggestion plz plz comment;)
