Ryan Seacrest, Snubbed by Brangelina at Golden Globes, Reacts
Snubbed by Hollywood’s first couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Ryan Seacrest simply blows off the issue as though it were no big deal.
It may not seem like too much of a big deal, but the issue certainly is getting plenty of play. Ryan Seacrest, working over the celebrity crowd at the Golden Globe Awards last Sunday, at one point approached Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the media-appointed first couple of Hollywood (even though they live in France), only to be given the celebrity cold shoulder. Video footage of the embarrassing moment shows Seacrest, working the pre-show crowd for E!, approaching the famous couple, saying, "Hi, guys. Brad? Angelina?" Jolie and Pitt, however, seemed not only to ignore Seacrest, but specifically to make an effort to move away from him.
For his part, Seacrest responded during his KIIS-FM radio show yesterday, saying, "I don’t think Angelina thinks I’m that important. I don’t think I’m top of mind for Brad and Angelina. I honestly don’t believe they’d know who I was if I walked over there." This, despite the fact that Seacrest presides over one of the most popular shows on television, American Idol. Seacrest, speaking of his night at the Globes, also noted, "Here’s what I realized when I went down there. I realized quickly that it’s against the rules to walk down onto the carpet from the platform."
This isn’t the first time that Seacrest has had an issue with Jolie, however. At the 2006 Golden Globes, Seacrest asked Jolie what she had fed her children for breakfast that day, to which she coldly replied, "Cereal. We made cereal." Seacrest later called Jolie out for the incident, though some apologists also noted that her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was deathly ill at the time of the awards show.
