Ryan Phillippe’s New Love?

Sources say that Phillippe and Abbie Cornish, his co-star in an upcoming indie film Stop Loss, had an affair while they were filming. The two filmed the movie in August, Texas from August to late October and reports from the set are that the very married Phillippe and the Australian actress grew "very close" on the set. A source said the two had a "fling." Cornish’s rep said, "It’s not true. They are co-stars and that is it." Neither Witherspoon nor Phillippe’s reps had a comment.

A Texas local reportedly saw Phillippe making out with a "blonde who fit Cornish’s description" at Kenichi, a local sushi restaurant, on October 10. The local, Lauren Scott, reportedly said, "I was pretty shocked that he would blatantly cheat on Reese in public." A source close to the couple said that Witherspoon confronted Phillippe about his relationship with Cornish after allegedly seeing the pictures of the two of them together. The source said, "Ryan admitted it was true and said, ‘We just need to end this.’ Reese literally had no choice."

It has also been reported that Witherspoon and Phillippe did not sign a pre-nup before their 1999 marriage. If the couple actually heads to divorce court it could mean a huge payout for Phillippe. Witherspoon recently was named the highest paid actress in Hollywood making a whopping $29 million per film. Phillippe makes approximately $2.5 mil a film and under California law he is entitled to half her earnings during a marriage if no pre-nup was signed. Witherspoon and Phillippe have two children together – Ava, 7, and Deacon, 3. It has been rumored that they are not even thinking about reconciliation, but hope to keep the divorce "amicable for the sake of the children." Wonder how amicable it will be if Phillippe did, in fact, cheat on Witherspoon…
