Running

A poem about a horse escaping it's owners.
Running with the wind,
Searching for some fun
Racing with the eagles,
Beneath the summer sun

Throwing back you head,
Let the shackles soar
Basking in the feeling,
Of freedom forever more

Escaping from the people,
Who kept you far from home
Who found they joy,
In keeping you alone

Now you’ve finally done it,
You’ve made your escape
Watching over your shoulder,
As they all go ape

So raise your head,
And laugh towards the sky
Look towards the place,
Where the eagles fly

Once you have finished,
Focus on a star
Because once you reach,
Home won’t be too far

Run towards the place
Where you family waits
Guided by a feeling,
Guided by the fates

Return to the place,
Where the grass is green
Back to your home,
Which is rarely seen

You heart beating on,
Inside of your chest
Struggling to keep up,
As you take another breath

Listen to the birds,
The eagles overhead
Remembering the words,
Which had once been said

You will always return,
No matter what goes wrong
Just remember to listen,
To the summer song

So focus of your future,
Instead of your past
Focus on your destiny
Because you can never run to fast
