Running Away

His lips are addicting, soft, and it feels so right, but she knows it won't be long before her heart is broken into a million pieces....
Characters from this TV show I watch. Can you guess what TV show?
-----------------------------------------
It wasn't healthy for her, she knew that.

But, when was she ever the one to make good choices?

He's in love with her best friend, he himself claims. He'd never love someone so abrasive and bossy, her best friend thinks. No one will ever love her, she herself believes.

It was reckless, and so wrong, and so very fucked up, but then again so was she, so somehow, it all makes sense in the end.

It's a rocky relationship from the beginning, with him obsessing over her best friend, and her refusing to let him in be causing attaching to people is dangerous business. It's like handing someone the power to break her, and it's not really her style.

She tries so hard to keep him away, and when he sometimes studies her, she wants to scream at him. It's like he's staring right through her and seeing all her little secrets.

At first, they aren't oh so very close, but he has to go out and act her knight in shining armor sometimes, and it gets harder and harder for her every day to build a wall around him. And finally, it gets too hard to pretend.

Somehow, he winds his way into her life, and two years later, he, Sam,and Carly are best friends.

Sometimes, she thinks he knows. Knows how she feels about him. Knows that she stays up those Saturday nights, thinking about him. And that he laughs and snickers about it behind her back. She knows she's being paranoid, but it's just who she is.

She wants to think she hates him, but the way her breathing hitches when he's just a little too close when they're doing their usual bickering act, or the way she blushes whenever she thinks about her first kiss with him (long story) says otherwise. And yet, he's always been in love with her best friend.

And that's why kissing Freddie Benson was very, very reckless.

It hadn't been something she'd planned. They were at a party, and she'd been nursing her broken heart with some alcoholic beverage she couldn't name.

He was drunk, too. Well, not full on drunk like her father had been the night he'd left and she never saw him again. It was more, he was a little tipsy, versus her, who turned out to be even more violent drunk then sober.

And that's when he found her, throwing off some guy off her shoulders. Timidly, he had sat down onto the couch next to her. She'd glared, but let him off with an eyeroll. "Crazy party, huh?", he'd asked, and she let a lazy smile crawl up her face. "Yeah," she yawned, and let her head rest on his shoulder.

Now that she thought of it, it was his fault the kiss happened. If he hadn't been such a gentleman and not had moved his arms to cradle her in his lap for her to be more comfortable, she wouldn't have let her eyes wander up on his lips. And then, the adrenaline rush that came with any close proximity to the nub wouldn't have come, and she wouldn't have launched herself onto his familiar lips.

It's not like the kiss they'd shared at the fire escape; it's too raw and primal to be compared to something so soft. She's surprised he doesn't pull away, but she's not about to question it. Tongues slip against each other, both battling for control, and it seems he's winning. And then, he realizes what he's doing, and pulls away.

His expression is a mixture of shoke and amazement, and she doesn't know if it's just her usual doom and gloom working behind the scenes, but it looks like a part of him is horrified.

So she runs.

She runs runs runs, because she doesn't want to face the rejection that's sure to come. She knows for sure that her heart's too fragile for that kind of pain.

And so, she's running away......
So, what do you think?
