Running Away From Love! Chapter 9

I can’t believe I was about to throw the athletic away because of some jerk. Agh! I thought while walking to my place at the track and guess who was on the place next to me… yep Alex.
"So you ready for this?" he asked looking at me.
"Yeah." I said stretching.
"Well I think this will be fare and square." He said also stretching.
"Huh? Why?"
"Cause you think I was the one who kissed you."
Right then we heard through the speakers. "Competitors please get into position."
We all got down.
"No the deal is still on." I said smiling.
"What?" Alex asked confused.
"In your mark get set…"
"I kissed you Alex!"
"What?"
"…Go!"
I sprinted out running and when I looked over my shoulder I saw Alex still in shock but he started running and quickly caught up with me. Soon we both left the others back and first I was up front then he was. I passed him by just a bit and I saw the finish line. I could win this. Easy the finish line was right there just a little boost and id win. But I made a deal and right when I was about to cross the finish line I pulled back a little and Alex passed me. He won.
Everyone cheered and they gave Alex a trophy. Everyone left and I came up to him.
"See Williams I didn’t need you to let me win." He said grinning.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah you did."
"No I didn’t, no I didn’t. I won you lost! I won you lost!" he started singing.
"I let you win!"
"No you didn’t."
"Yeah I did."
"But the deal was off! Accept it Williams this was fare and square and you lost."
Oh God! "No Alex I let you win! I kissed you!"
"Oh I get what you’re doing." He said grabbing his trophy with both hands.
"What’s that?" I asked crossing my arms in front of my chest.
"You say you kissed me so it would look as if you let me win but you didn’t."
"Oh my god! Just forget it!" I said turning and leaving him there.
I got in my car and breathed deeply. Man was he a pain. Gosh!
I rushed to my house and got a quick shower. Man I needed it I needed to let the stress that fighting with Alex caused me.
I went to close my window when I saw a box with a little note on it.
Hey, Williams or should I say loser. I’m kidding. I knew the deal was still on. And I heard you the first time you said you kissed me…I just wanted to hear you say it again ;).
So I guess this is yours…
I automatically smiled at the note and when I opened the box there was the trophy he had won with a single rose a smaller note than the last one.
Just so you know that I do have feelings ;) Pretty boy.
Man was this guy for real? He makes me mad then he’s all sweet. Sweet? What the hell am I thinking? He must’ve given roses to every girl at school. Pft... I just grabbed the trophy and put it on my desk and the rose I put it on my night stand with the notes. Then I jumped into bed and fell asleep with a smile on my face.
