Run - Chapter 19

Sick.
Carrying Akita in one arm and Lillith in the other I walked through the castle, family in toe. As we quickly traveled through the lavished halls, we bumped into someone. I looked up at that someone and regretted it. It was Father. He was looking haggard and thin. "Draven?" Father said surprised. "Hello Father." I replied. I watched his eyes drift to Mother, then glance back to me. "What are you all doing here?" he asked. "We seek shelter in this heaven. Drakon is possessed by something dark. He stole away my wife and child, and made them sick. Thankfully we retrieved them. But they are still sick." I told him. "I see. Come with me." He said. We followed him to the thrown room. I watched him walk in front. He wobbled, as if drunk. As we entered the thrown room, we could instantly feel that something was off. We looked around and saw the changes made. This was not the same court we had come to six years ago. There were more vampires added to the court.

A tall bronze haired woman sat on the lap of Prince Marcello, a small child about Lillith's age was seated on Princess Elene's knee, and twins Arabel and Jezabel were twisted around a Spanish man. Prince Zion sat with his head in his hands, and Queen Lizeta and King Julieus were no whereto be found. Zion looked up, and his eyes alight. "Friends! Welcome!" he cried standing. "Hello, Prince Zion." I smiled. "What is the problem?" he asked. "Drakon stole my wife and child. He drugged them.Akita and my daughter Lillith, are hurt." I told him. He rushed down and grabbed Akita out of my arms then snapped,"Follow me." I did. He ran up to the room Akita and I had shared when we had come before. It hadn't changed a bite. Zion laid Akita on the bed, and I did the same to Lillith. "I'll call a maid for some hot water, salt, vinegar, and baking soda." He said running out. I frowned. "What?" I whispered to myself. Hot water, salt, vinegar, and baking soda? He ran back in. "She will be here any minute." He told me. "Why do we need that stuff?" I asked. "To make them vomit." He said. "Why would we do that?!" I yelled. "We have to get the drugs out of their system." He hissed. A maid hurried in. Zion took the bottles and boxes, then the maid left.

The Prince took the baking soda and the vinegar, and put it in Akita's mouth. He grabbed her face and moved her mouth so that she would swallow. "Get a trash can, Draven." He called. I ran to the bath room and took the can out to my wife. Then Zion poured the salt, water, and vinegar into Lillith's mouth. Akita started to thrash and choke again. She vomited everywhere but the can. A minute later Lilli did the same. I sat and watched anxiously. Then they lay still. " They will be fine now." Zion told me. I sat on the end of the bed, and relaxed. Zion sat with me. "What happened?" I asked him. "I should ask you the same thing." He smiled. I nodded. "Drakon sent us a letter and told us he was coming after my daughter. So we packed up and tried to come here." I said. "She is very beautiful. She looks just like her mother. Brandy would have been very happy to see her." He said with sigh. I frowned at her name. Brandy, Akita's former best friend. Former, because Drakon ripped her head off. I nodded. "Anyway on the way here Drakon stopped the train and snagged them both.

We had to travel across all of Europe and Asia to get them back." I told him. "Well I'm glad you found them." He breathed. "But that's not all. There is something possessing Drakon, a dark spirit. I think it wants Akita and Lilli. I think it is what is making him crazy." I told him. "What do you want to do?" he asked." I want to help him. I want that thing out of my brother. I don't want this to ever happen again." I hissed. "I will try to help as much as I can. The Queen became very ill after Sonya's death. Mother won't get out of bed, and father won't leave her side. They are both in their room. They have been there a long time. The king has put me in charge." He said. "I see. I am sorry for your losses, all of them. Brandy, Sonya, and your mother and father. You know, you can get revenge on the thing that killed them when you help me." I said. "That's what I was planning." He chuckled. I bite my lip then asked, "What about the others?" Zion sighed. "The others are another story. The Spaniard is the husband of both of my twin sisters. They insisted that he marry them both, he didn't complain. The woman is Marcello's new love.

He found her in the village and brought her back here, she hasn't left since." He explained. "What about the little girl?" I asked. Zion smirked. "That is Princess Primula. She is Elene's daughter. She is five, Lillith's age?" he told me. "Maybe she and Lilli can play. What dose my father think of the girl? I know he and Elene were together." I said. "Your father thinks the world of her, and why wouldn't he, she is his daughter." He mumbled. I stiffened. "What did you say?" I hissed tightly. "Primula is your half sister, and my niece. Elene and Dominic are married. Your father is now a prince too. I guess that makes you a prince, and related to me." He rambled. I was frozen. I couldn't say anything. My father had started a new life, without telling anyone! I had a little sister my daughter's age, and a step mother younger than myself! I looked over at Zion. "I'm sorry." He whispered. "You're not the one who should be saying that." I breathed. "I know it's hard to swallow but, I think you will be alright.

Would you like me to tell Alexia and Vladimir too?" he asked. I nodded. I knew it would be better for him to do it. "Can you do me a favor and get some blood and food for them?" I asked gesturing to my girls. With a pat on the shoulder, he nodded and left. I sat there, and petted Lillith's hair. (My sister is as old as her.) I thought. I heard a small moan come from her. She rolled onto her back and looked up at me. "Lilli?" I smiled, feeling the tightness in my throat. "Daddy? Is the bad man gone?" she asked, softly. "Yes honey. You won't ever see him again." I told her. "Where are we?" she whispered. "At the castle, sweetheart." I said. Her eyes lit up. "Where are the princesses?" she rasped. "They promised to see you after you get better, Ok?" I said. She nodded. "I'm hungry." She whimpered. "One of the princes is getting you something right now. You're so special; you have a prince waiting on you." I smiled weakly. She gave a squeaky giggle, then put a hand on my face. "I love you, Daddy."
