Royal Darkness chp 2
Sorry it took me a while for this chap. I had stuff to do. Its also short but next week I promise it will be longer.
"Maybe its because we didn’t pay attention?" Michael said.
"Yea. Maybe." I said but as soon as the words were out of my mouth, I realized that it was something else.
The boy comes and sits right in front of me. Great. Just fuckin great. I thought to myself. The teachers calls role so I finally knew what the boys name was. His name was Seth Cooper. When the bell ringed, we got our stuff and left as slow as we could but faster than everyone else. I went the whole day without seeing him. When we were on our way to our last class of the day, he walked up to me.
"Hey there." he said. I didn’t know what it was but there was something in his voice that made my skin tingle. My skin! Me. Who is known as the Vampire Princess. All I could do was stare.
"Hello?" he said again. That brought me out of my trance.
"Hey. You’re the new kid right?"
"Yea. It seems that everyone here knows if someone new appears. It’s kinda weird."
"Well. I live right beside where you just moved in at."
"Oh. Well. I guess that does explain how you know. I’m Seth by the way."
"Nice to meet you. I’m Rani."
"Hey Rani. Who are you…." a voice behind me says.
I turn around to see Rayne and Michael walking towards me.
"Oh. Hey. Guys, this is Seth. Seth. This is Rayne and Michael."
"Hey." That was all they said.
"Rani. Can I talk to you for a minute?" Rayne asks.
"Sure. We’ll be right back."
She takes me into the girls bathroom. The only place that we could talk without the boys hearing.
"What in the hell do you think your doing?" she asks.
"I was talking to Seth."
"Yea. I could see that. Did you forget what we were talking about this morning in class?"
"I didn’t start the conversation with him ok. He started talking to me first. I thought it was only polite to say something back. "
"He’s a vampire. He could be trying to get close to you in order to kill you. Did you ever think about that?"
"How can he find out who we are when we can hide our presence as well as we can?"
"What if he has a gift that enables him to get past all that. Huh? What would you do if that were the case?"
"Of course we would have to kill him. There is no other way around it." After I said that, I had looked away. I didn’t want to show how much I really didn’t want to do that if that was really the case.
"Listen. We have been best friends since we were born. I’m just trying to do my job and protect you. Both me and Michael both are."
I turned around to look at her. The look on her face when she said that. I could tell she really meant it.
"I know. That’s why I’m doing this."
"Doing what exactly?"
"I’m goina try to get close to him so we can find out about him."
"No way! I’m not goina let you do that. That is WAYYYYY to dangerous."
"There is no other way."
"Did you forget who you are?"
"What do you mean?"
"Ask your dad to find out information on him. He is running the vamp world right now. You know he has to know something. That is a whole lot safer for you. And if you don’t ask him. I will."
"Ok ok. I get your point. When we go home we’ll ask him. Happy?"
"Extremely." She comes and hugs me. I hug her back.
"We should get back out there before one they get worried. Two, before Michael tries to kill Seth." I say.
"Agreed. I really don’t feel like getting in a fight on the first day of the new school year."
We leave the bathroom to find Michael and Seth talking and laughing.
"Oh hey. Do you think you took enough time?" Michael asks.
"We had something really important to talk about for your information." Rayne says.
"Ok ok. You don’t have to bite my head off."
I give him that look telling him if he didn’t shut up I really would bite his head off. He gives me that sorry look. I let my eyes soften.
"Ok. I think we better get going before we’re late to class. See you later Seth." I say.
"Ok. See ya."
We all haul ass to our next class. We barely make it in time before the late bell rings. I was so happy it was the last class of the day. When the dismissal bell ringed, all three of us where out of the class before everyone else was. I was in a hurry to get home. When we got to my house, my dad was already home. Huh. That’s weird. My dad is never home when I get home from school. it looked like Rayne and Michael were thinking the same thing. We walk in the door. Sitting on the couch right in front of my dad who was in the recliner, was none other than them. The whole Cooper family including Seth.
