Royal Darkness Ch. 3

"Dad. What’s going on in here?" I say.

"I think you three should sit down. I’ll explain everything."

"You better." I mumble to my self. We were reluctant to sit down. But we decided to sit down anyways. What use is there standing So we decide to sit down on the couch right beside my dad. My dad turns and faces me.

"Rani, you know that in four months you will be turning eighteen. That is the time when you will take your mother’s place and rule over all vampire’s." he starts off.

"Yes. I know. You have put that in my head for so long now."

"Well. Before you take the crown, you must do something first."

"WHAT?!?!?!?!? You never mentioned anything about a catch." my anger was starting to flare. I knew I had to get a hold on myself. For now at least.

"Shhhh. Just listen. Before you turn eighteen, you must get married to a noble vampire."

"WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?" I stand up. As I turn around to look at the Cooper’s, I notice something. Everyone of them are scared. I could feel it. I could also see it in their eyes. Good I thought. I guess they never seen a pureblood get angry unless they knew my mother but I doubted it.

"Calm down and listen for a minute." my dad said. He look as calm as he ever was.

"You want me to calm down. How can I calm down. You just told me that I have to marry some guy I don’t even know and before I turn eighteen. And you want me to calm down!!!!"

"Its not some guy you don’t know. I would never do that to you. In fact you know him and he is in this very room right now."

I look around once more. There were only two guys that I knew. Michael and Seth. I knew it couldn’t be Michael because he wasn’t a noble. Noble vampires were the families of vampires that my mother first turned and the people they turned. One of my father’s friends turned Michael and that guy wasn’t a noble. So the only guy left was Seth. I turned to look at him. When I did he gave me that smile. The one that told me that I was right.

"You can’t mean Seth. I just met him."

"And what if he was?"

"I refuse."

"Now listen here, you are MY daughter. You will do what I say."

"Oh really. You want to make bet?"

"Rani Nicollet James. You will do as I say. You have absolutely no say in this matter!"

I couldn’t hold it in any longer. All the anger that had been building up. I just let it out. There was only one other time that this had happen. That was right after my mother died. At first. I couldn’t see anything. A few seconds passed, everything I saw was blue. Just like my fire. I could see my dad’s face, not very well though. For once I saw fear in his eyes. Something I never saw before. Next, I could feel my whole body burning up. But it wasn’t hurting me. It was like it was telling me it was there.

"Oh no!!! We have to stop her. If we don’t we are all dead for good." I heard Rayne say.

"How?" A voice I didn’t know said.

"Robert, how do we stop her?" Michael said. I could tell he was talking to my dad since that was his name.

"I don’t know. This only happened once and that was when her mother died. I wasn’t home though. I was taking care of some other business. Rayne, do you remember. Weren’t you with her?’ I heard my dad say.

"I wasn’t with her that time. We were out in the woods doing a little hunting. All I do know is that we need to either get her out or we need to get out or we need to get out now!"

I wasn’t aware of anything else after that. I could feel it taking over. I just let it all out then. I really didn’t care if everyone got out or not. The last thing I was aware of, was a bright light. After that, everything went black.

When I woke up, I was in a room I didn’t recognize. I sat up but then I sat back down because my head hurt like a bitch. Everything was spinning. I close my eyes. When I felt like the world wasn’t spinning anymore, I opened them. I looked around the room. It was a off-white color. There were posters of The Beatles, Kiss, and other older bands. I was laying down on a queen sized mattress. I was wrapped in a soft silk blanket. As I looked around the room, I saw a bookshelf that was full of books. I couldn’t really read what they were. I look under the covers to make sure I still had on clothes. I did, but they weren’t mine. I heard someone walk down the hallway. I laid back down as soon as they got to the door. The door slowly opened. I recognized the scent. It was Rayne.

"Ugh. Rayne is that you?" I ask.

"Ohmygod. Your finally awake. I’m so happy." She runs over the bed and gives me a hug.

"Ouch. Careful."

"Oh. Sorry." She lets me go and sits right beside me.

"How long have I been out and where am I?"

"You have been out for three days! I was getting really worried. We are at the Cooper’s house. And you are currently lying in Seth’s bed."

"WHAT!?!? Three days! Why are we at Seth’s house?"

"I forget. You never remember when you use that much power."

"Ohmygod! No I didn’t. Please tell me I didn’t do it again." I plead.

"I’m sorry but I can’t say that."

"Ohmygod! So let me guess, my house is gone."

"Yep. But they started rebuilding already since there was nothing left."

I put my face in my hands and start to cry. Rayne wraps her arms around me and starts to sway back and forth. Just like she used to do right after my mother died. I heard a knock on the door and jumped.

"Come in." Rayne says.

The door cracks open. I look through the gaps between my fingers to see who it was. It was Seth.

"Good. Its about time you awakened. I’ve had to sleep on the couch."

"What do you want?" Rayne asks.

"I just came to see if she was awake. That’s all. And if she was, I was going to suggest that she might need to go feed. She hasn’t in over three days right?"
It was only then that I realized that what he said was true. I was hungry. But I knew that animal blood, which is what I usually drank, wasn’t going to do the job. It was then I realized how handsome Seth was. He had dark brown hair that looked the color of chocolate. It wasn't long but it wasn't short either. I was just a little above his ears. His eyes on the other hand, were as blue as the sea. He was fairly muscular. More than Michael. He was also around six feet tall.

" I was also going to ask if she wouldn’t mind going hunting with me since I need to talk to her alone."

I knew Rayne was about to protest but before she could, I said "Fine. I’ll go with you."

"Great. Well leave in two hours. That should give you enough time to take a shower and get dressed. I’ll be down stairs if you need me."

"Thanks." I say.
