Rough Cuts
We are all perfectly unperfect.
The master jeweler sits with a sketch pad and draws a set of designs. These designs are meant to enhance and support the natural beauty of a precious stone. There are several gems to choose from but these designs calls for something very special. Diamonds, the royalty of the gem world.
Now why am I choosing diamonds, the master asks herself? Then she smiles of course, they remind her of people. Diamonds are the hardest substance known to man and has withstood the challenges which have come their way. This gem is similar to the human being, equipped with its own set of characteristics and stories to tell. Stories of where they came from, the experiences they have had and where they might to hope to end up.
Diamonds have a very long and colorful history which is sprinkled with mystique, happiness, tragedy and success. Each person has their own history which also has its own share of happiness and sadness, successes and failures when all blended together makes a very unique individual.
The master jeweler has finished with the designs and has chosen the pieces of diamonds whose presence the designs will compliment.
She puts down her sketch pad, pens and loupe but she is no longer smiling; instead she is sad. Even though her job is to design, she like to mingles with and observe the people who buys the finished piece of jewellery.
As an observer she is always amazed at how much importance is placed by the buyer on this stone. She wonders, if they place that amount of effort or energy in maintaining an appreciation for their own life.
The human being focus most times on what is happening on the out-side. The natural beauty of the diamond flows from the internal to the external which is very much the same process for the human being. There are pieces of diamonds which are flawed internally and externally and only the expert craft-person knows what cut and setting is most suitable to bring out the true essence of the diamond. Individuals are the craft person in their own life and fully equipped with what is needed to bring out their own unique brilliance. However most people choose not to take the responsibility of molding their lives. Instead they allow themselves to be like a leaf just blowing in the world with no aim or direction.
The diamond's most common feature is its sparkle and color and also it’s most valuable. And if people were to look within themselves they would find their won special sparkle and color which is more worthy than those of the Hope Diamond.
Individuals need to remember who they are, where they came from and their special purpose in this life. If that is done the world would be vibrating to a happier energy.
The master jeweler steps back from her observation and smiles, this time with hope that may be one day everyone will get it, that they were created perfectly and there is no need to go around looking for what is not missing.
