Roses - Chapter Two
I'm so sorry I took so long! I was extremely sick. Thank you and I apologize to Golden, Maggie, Lina, Jasmin, Angie R, Meh, Raina, and Tiffany for having kept them waiting for so long!
"How did you feel when you cut yourself, Michelle?" I yawned and rolled my eyes 'cause this girl looked like the kind who would give a long answer. I didn't really like therapy group so I just pretended to be really into it so no one would bother me. I knew it was wrong of me to be bored because I was cutter too but I wasn't one to tell people my problems. After Michelle was done going on and on and on, the group was finally dismissed for dinner. I was so happy that I got up out of seat and almost collided with Oliver on my way out.
"I'm so sorry..." I could feel my face burning and he just smiled. His eyes twinkled like they were smiling at me too. This only made me blush harder.
"No problem. I was hoping to bump into you anyway. Would you like to join me for dinner?" I nodded. His words were so...intellectual. They weren't boring of course like a teacher ranting about a subject but like a hope filled student who loved what he was studying. It wasn't just a hunger now. I CRAVED to learn more about him. All that made me walk a little faster to the café.
Once we arrived, Oliver, or Golden I should say, made his way over to the same exact table we had sat at when we first met. I smiled widely and he gladly returned it.
"Come sit, I'll go grab our food." He said as he pulled out a chair for me. I sat down and hid my blush as he walked away. I watched him approach the line and sighed happily. He was so handsome and charming too! He's so...perfect.
"It's me! It's me!" My phone ringtone sang. My head quickly snapped down to my pocket. I seriously hoped nobody would see me with my phone. Especially now since a few heads were turning to see where the mysterious noise came from. I quietly took my phone out and pressed TALK.
"What!?" I whispered loudly into the receiver, my voice full of poison.
"Dang! Is that how you talk to your boyfriend?" Nathan snickered when he said that.
"You are NOT my boyfriend, Nathan. And I've made it pretty clear that you won't be. Ever. Again." Golden approached and his eyes crinkled in confusion at my red, angry face.
"Gotta go." I said, my eyes never leaving Golden's. I quickly ended the call and hoped Golden wouldn't ask about it. He didn't seem curious though and instead happily sat down with two trays of food.
"I hope you like tator tots!" Golden said. I laughed and took one in my hand. I nibbled it delicately and Golden watched me, his brown eyes sparkling. I blushed and quickly finished of my tator.
"So what kind of things do you like?" He asked. My mind went blank. Should I lie and say something that he might be into? Or should I be honest and tell him something about me? Will he laugh? Or will share the same interest? I had so many questions in my head that I couldn't control my brain.
"I like llamas!" I blurted without thinking. My eyes widened and I wanted to run and hide and never show my face again. I crossed my arms on the table and buried my face there. I waited for Golden's laughter but it never came.
"There's a happy happy llama in the forest of treats!
Lots and lots of food for llama to eat!
But llama likes to run and that keeps her lean
That's why she's the happy, happy llama, llama queen!" Golden sang softly. My head shot up of the familiarity of the song.
"No way! You've watched that cartoon? I thought I was the only person to watch that since it is so old!" My embarrassment was over and Golden seemed to be intrigued by my enthusiasm.
"What's your favorite episode- "I was asking before the bleep of the intercom system.
"Attention all patients," The speakers on the wall echoed, "this day is officially coming to an end so please start making your way to your rooms. Make sure to be up early tomorrow! Goodnight!" Once the announcement was over everyone in the cafe started making their ways to the exit. Golden grabbed my hand gently so we would be at the end, so no one would trample us. His touch sent shivers down my spine.
"I'd love to walk you to your room. Would that be alright?" He asked.
"Sure!" I said almost too excited.
Golden just laughed and led me towards Green Meadows hall, where all the dorms were located. He seemed to know which one was mine because he stopped at 20B. I smiled as he opened up the door for me.
"Thank you..." I said shyly.
"You're welcome. Have a goodnight, Lily. Or should I say happy, happy, llama queen." He didn't see my face turn strawberry red as he walked off. I stood there even though he had already gone.
"Goodnight, Oliver Golden Rose..." I said to myself and then I turned and walked into my dorm.
