Rosacea Cures

Rosacea is generally considered a lifelong condition with no real cure. Many natural alternatives to general medical treatment have surfaced. Rosacea cures are considered possible by some as eliminating an allergenic substance often eradicates the symptoms.

Rosacea Cures. Do they Exist?

Standard treatment for the often painful and disfiguring condition rosacea is limited at best. The typical starting protocol of Metrogel (topical antibiotic) and Tetracycline (oral antibiotic) has many drawbacks. Frequent side effects such as dryness, increased irritation, digestive disturbance, photosensitivity, and yeast infections are common. Many people feel helpless with these treatments, as they are unaware or distrusting of the reported alternatives. Many people will go for years living with the side effects of these drugs out of desperation for a rosacea cure. Others will simply opt out of treatment altogether preferring to live with the condition as opposed to suffering the negative side effects of the standard rosacea treatment.

Natural medicine offers a legitimate alternative. A number of substances have gone through actual clinical studies and have shown excellent results that are comparable to or even better than prescriptions. Unfortunately the general public is usually not informed by their physicians of these treatments. While many doctors are probably aware of these treatments they are bound by law to only promote FDA approved and endorsed products. They feel afraid to lose their medical license and opt to keep quiet. Other doctors accept monetary rewards from pharmaceutical companies to only endorse these products to their patients. The only way for the vast majority of patients looking for rosacea cures to find out about these alternatives is to look for them themselves. This is not something that most people are going to do. There has been a backlash against the medical establishments monopoly for the past several years and more people are catching on to the fact that they have alternatives.

All of this brings to mind the question of whether rosacea cures really exist. The "established" medical opinion is that there isn’t truly a "cure" for rosacea. The usual information given the patient is that their condition is permanent and that they must battle it for life. Many alternative practitioners would disagree. Investigation into allergies and diet has shown anecdotal evidence of a cure. For example if it is discovered that a patient has an allergy to dairy and then their rosacea symptoms disappear once all dairy is removed from their diet, might it be that this was a cure? Many believe this is so. All in all, cure or no cure, rosacea can be treated.
