Asphalt Shingles

There are many colors of metal roofing materials available. Though they are made of metal, they are light weight and extremely environment friendly. Metal roofing is durable and has a long life of about 50 years. There are only two major drawbacks of using metal roofing. The first drawback is that they are difficult to install and require periodic painting. The second drawback of metal roofing is that they are quite expensive.

Wooden roofing gives a classic look to the cottages and bungalows. Wood, is a material which can be used in the contemporary style of construction, as well as in the historic ones. Wooden shingles are easy to install and repair. Wooden shingles are long-lasting, if they are maintained well. The demerits of the wooden roofing material are its cost and professional installation. Wooden shingles are more prone to rotting, molds and mildew.
Slate Roofing Materials
Slate roofing material is well-known for long-lasting and durable nature. Slate roofs are extremely heavyweight and expensive for installation. Although, the slate roofing material have a high cost, they last for a lifetime.
Tile Roofing
Tile roofing are available in a variety of colors and styles. They are attractive yet durable. Durability comes with the cost of high and regular maintenance. The tile roofing is heavy yet fragile and walking on this type of roofs can break the tiles.
Engineered Roofing Materials
The engineered roofing material is lightweight and long-lasting. They are attractive (available in different colors) and cost-effective. The only drawback is that this roofing material type is not known to everybody.
Concrete Roofing
Concrete roofing is available in different shapes and colors and is extremely durable. It requires low maintenance and are relatively lightweight. Concrete roofing can be expensive as compared to other roofing types.
