Roger Clemens' Relationship with Mindy McCready

The news was reported by The New York Times that Clemens
began an affair with McCready when she was only 15 years old that lasted a decade. Clemens' lawyer, Rusty Hardin, reportedly confirmed that a relationship between the two did exist, but that it was completely platonic. Hardin reportedly said, "He flatly denies having had any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her. He's considered her a close family friend...He has never had a sexual relationship with her." Clemens was 28
and married with two children when the alleged affair began. Hardin said that
Clemens' wife, to whom he is still married, knew about the friendship and
even traveled with McCready.

Sources say otherwise. McCready, 32, and Clemens, 45, reportedly had a very serious relationship and she even allegedly put secret messages of love to him in the liner notes of her albums. The two reportedly met in a bar in Florida when the underage singer was still trying to make it big and Clemens was with the Boston Red Sox. The pair reportedly carried on an affair for the next ten-years even while she was briefly engaged to actor Dean Cain in 1997.

McCready hit it big in 1996 with the hit "Guys Do It All the Time." Over the past number of years her life has taken a turn for the worse. She has had many legal troubles including being arrested for prescription-drug fraud, suicide attempts, domestic abuse, and a probation violation. Through all of her legal troubles, Clemens has reportedly been supporting her financially. McCready has yet to comment on the alleged affair. She is reportedly starring in an upcoming reality show. Clemens has been dealing with his own problems after being accused of using steroids and human growth hormones during his baseball career.
