Rock the Cradle is the newest reality competition show set to debut on MTV. Each week the spawn of such musical greats as Eddie Money, Dee Snider, Bobby Brown, and Olivia Newton John will compete against one another in singing competitions. A mix of celebrities and musical talents will be judging the competitions. The show will debut on April 3 at 10 p.m.
The contestants on the show are Jesse Money, daughter of Eddie Money; Landon Brown, son of Bobby Brown; Lil Al B Sure, son of Al B Sure; Chloe Rose Lattanzi, daughter of Olivia Newton John; Lucy Walsh, daughter of Joe Walsh of the Eagles; Crosby Loggins, son of Kenny Loggins; Jesse Blaze Snider; son of Dee Snider; Lara Johnston, daughter of the Doobie Brothers’ Tom Johnston; and A’keiba Burrell-Hammer, daughter of M.C. Hammer. Ironically, Bobby Brown and Dee Snider are currently starring together on CMT’s Gone Country.
Landon Brown, who refused to appear on his father Bobby Brown’s reality show Being Bobby Brown, agreed to appear on this new show because he feels the exposure will be good for him. Brown said, "I love to compete. I’ve learned from [my father’s] mistakes. I do me, but I tone myself down a little more, except on stage. I’ll try not to take my shirt off up there. They told me not to." The cast of Rock the Cradle recently met during a photo shoot and hit it off. Jesse Blaze Snider said that he and A’keiba became fast friends because they can relate to one another. Lucy Walsh said, "I was interested in this show because of the mass exposure available with a television spot." A’keiba Burrell-Hammer said she decided to do the show because it "sounded like a lot of fun." She added, "I love performing."
