Robot

Awaiting death...
Robot
He was breathing hard.
Eyes were painfully sad.
The pair was staring at something.
The object decided his span of living.
That was the light off the lane.
His weak sight was seeing out of window pane.
The light was flickering.
On that was his life dangling.
Once that light is lost;
He will breathe his last.
This weird thought got affixed to him.
That made the atmosphere very grim.
His wife didn’t utter a word.
Her heart fluttered like a bird.
The man, who once loved to live;
Today had no desire to live!
He was ready for death.
Any breath could be his last breath?
Only hope was that light!
She knew that was a freeway robot.
Robot rarely breaks down.
Her husband would see every dawn.
Soon his health will improve.
He may develop a desire to live.
She knows not Jesus or Mary.
All that she prays is robot’s mercy.
Let it blink green and red.
That would keep him from being dead!
