Robert Pattinson Being Courted by Saturday Night Live

Robert Pattinson is generally on the minds of teenaged girls to such an extent that any movie or television show that can snag him for a lead role or appearance is sure to boost ratings in the "spending mommy and daddy’s money on useless stuff with abandon" demographic. Because of that, the actor is in high demand, but thus far he has made very few appearances that have allowed his true personality to shine through. That may change in the future, however, as Saturday Night Live is trying to get Pattinson on the show…and trying to tap into that teenage girl market.

Hints that such an arrangement is in the works came from SNL cast member Seth Meyers, who noted while on the red carpet at the recent Emmy Awards, "We would love to get Robert Pattinson…How dare you tell me he’s the hot guy from Twilight…like I don’t already know!" Meyers followed up in true SNL style, saying, "We’re actually hoping that if Rob’s not available, at least his hair will come by and host."

Despite the interest and the comments from the red carpet, it does not appear imminent that Pattinson will appear on SNL. A source close to the studio noted, "He is not currently booked for the season." The source also confirmed SNL’s interest, noting, "the show would love to have him on at any time." Well known for his private nature, many folks are left wondering if the appearance can happen. Only time will tell, but the season premiere of SNL is this weekend, so if the world’s most famous vampire is to be on the show, it will be in the next several months.
