Rising of the Moon - Chapter Three

Note: Leana was named after the queen. Just in case someone thought I got the name mix up. So both queen and the girl have the same name. I just thought it would be interesting that way.. heh.
@ True Graves Thanks for the comment. : D I was beginning to think that no one likes the story. I will continue posting it : D I'm hoping I'm not going to far with the descriptions. And maybe I should write longer chapters. If you have any suggestions, do tell : D

- Behind the water curtain -

Part 1

Leana walked in to her hideout through the dark tunnel behind the waterfall. Like all the times before, she stopped and admired the sight. A hidden valley, round in shape, surrounded by mountain cliffs going high up. A small stream was flowing down to the beautiful lake that on the night of the two full moons looked like a mirror. It was nesting the stars inside of it and two moons of Leera.

Although she could see the entire valley, it was not small. North was covered in forest, its trees silver in the moonlight. the lake was covering east and a bit of central part of the valley and stream was flowing from west, winding its way to the lake. Curves of the stream were gently shaped, like someone draw it with a paint-brush. It was a beautiful sight. A single isle rose from the middle of the lake. It was round and big enough to hold her cabin with a yard. Being the night of two moons, the entire isle was covered in moonflowers that bloomed the most on that island. It gave the entire valley an unrealistically beautiful scent that attracted Leana into coming here for the first time so many many years ago, when she was only in the seventh year of her life.

She couldn't move, partly because of the sorrow she felt, partly because of the guilt. If only she had told her family about this place, or at least her sister, then maybe some of them would be alive. She felt selfish for keeping this place to herself, but she always considered it hers. The days and nights spent burying her family and friends made her think she has lost her mind. The only way out she could find was ending her life. But wolves kept her away from those thoughts. There weren't any wolves now. She forbid them coming tonight. She needed to be alone.

Suicide thoughts creeped slowly back to her mind. She was alone. Her entire village killed. Everyone she ever knew and loved. She walked like a ghost to her little isle. A finely shaped boat was waiting at the wooden dock she made only 5 years before. Her thoughts were chaotic. Her heart was aching. She started giving in to the sorrow. Something she had no time for in the past year, when every free moment she spent with her wolf friends, working hard on making her house more beautiful place to live. For whom, she didn't know, but it kept ill thoughts away and postponed this moment she knew will come.

She shivered from the cool night air. Her dress, all white, was wet at the ends as she jumped out of her boat to the isle ground. Her wooden cabin rose there, beautiful looking, perfectly fitting in the surrounding. Moonfloowers were spreading their strong scent filling her heart with peace. She was standing now at her sisters grave. The only one that got the resting place in the moon valley. Somehow, it felt right to bring her here, to safety. The bond they shared... Leana shook her head while tears were falling down her cheeks. A constant, never ending flow. Moonflowers were blooming the most on her sisters final resting place.

Her knees felt week. She fell down to the ground, not being able to stand and she let a single scream escape her lips. The one she was keeping inside since that day. It echoed the stony walls of the valley. It rose high up to the air, piercing the night air. All the despair and pain in one single cry. And just before she passed out, she saw a glimpse of gold in the silver night and ocean blue eyes. Then the darkness came...
