Rising of the Moon - Chapter Ten

Journey begins. : D
@ Cherry Shab: Thanks for the suggestion! : D It really helps. Yeah, perhaps you're right... But I do enjoy writing. It does go much better when I just relax and write, and not push myself. Lately, I've been writing only when I feel like it and it goes much more fluently.
And yes, story is SLOWLY starting to unravel. lol Accent is on slowly. But there's no rush. I think I'll be posting faster too. But sometimes it takes more than 3 days for Buzzle to approve the article. Probably cause I posted it on Friday.. hehe

Woow 4 dogs!! Nice!! : D I love wolves too btw. They are my second favorite animals, right after eagles. I'll put eagles into the story too, for sure. And I'd like to have wolves. I have just one dog, though I used to volunteer at the zoo... It's important that a person has good connections to animals. That's my opinion. : )
As for whom I prefer from "Hell Angels", it's definitely Ichan! lol But I like Draco too... We'll see how those "human kids" are... lol But I think Ichan will stay my favorite. I'll slowly start putting more characters into the story and developing characters of his brothers, but yeah.. Ranel is perfect... Wish my boyfriend was more like him, but he's al-right.. lol
Ok, back to the story. : ) >>

- Magic revealed -

- " You shouldn't have carried me into the water like that! I TOLD YOU I didn't want to go in! " Leana yelled as she walked fast with backpack towards the exit of the valley. Her hair was still wet, and it took her moments to change and bring all the things she needed, after she ran out of the water. She wasn't really angry, she was just a little bit jealous that the wolves accepted him so well. Well, she will show him...

As she was walking, her cheeks were still read, remembering his bare chest, perfect figure, surprisingly warm body. /"Well he is a sun prince... They seem to be warmblooded."/ Warmth felt good against her body while he was carrying her, until he dropped her into the icy cold water of the lake! Chills still ran down her spine. She thought he is not gonna do it for real. It was a chilly evening and night grew dark without the light of two moons. Only one moon was visible now in the sky.

- " I don't think we should start our journey in the dark. " She heard him yelling, while running after her. She stopped abruptly and turned around, hitting him in his chest with the open palm:

- " You said we can go right away, and I decided to listen to your advice. There is no reason for us to stay in this valley any longer. You will take me to that sorcerer and I will learn magic and I will have my revenge. " Her anger was back. She decided to focus on it for now.

He sighed. - " I'm not taking you there to have revenge, though I can't blame you for wanting that. The faith of our world might as well depend on us. The sooner you realize that, the better. And magic is a serious matter. It's nothing to play with. " he said with serious expression on his face. " We will leave tonight, if that's what you wish. " With those words, the ball of light appeared in his hand, making her jump in surprise.

- " What..? How...? How did you do that? " she asked while looking at the beautiful white light.

- " It's the most I can manage in the night. My magic works in daylight. Especially if the sun is up. On nights, I can only make enough to light my way. My teacher can't manage even that small amount in the nighttime. And he is the most powerful sorcerer in the kingdom. "

- " Show off... " She commented while turning around to continue walking. She was hiding how impressed she was. She could feel the power going throw his fingers. And his figure seemed to glow. As she was quietly walking, she started gathering the power she had. Like she did before. She never tried to make a light before, though. She tried to imitate the weaves that she could see going out of his fingertips. She closed her eyes and felt the energy flow through her. When she opened them, the silver light almost blinded her.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- " Woooah! " Ranel stepped back, as the light appeared out of girls fingertips. It was bigger and brighter and more beautiful then his. He immediately sat off his light. He could tell that for a moment there, she was just as surprised as he was, but she kept her posture and she pretended like it's nothing to her. He could also see a faint smile from her glowing face as she was climbing up to the tunnel exit.

- " I'm impressed. For the first time you're making it... " He really did sound impressed.

- " How do you know it's my first time? "

- "You were surprised when I did it. And I noticed surprise on your face when you made one light ball. You're a fast learner. Heiller will be truly satisfied. " He smiled at her as she only shrugged and set off her light ball. Her figure still seemed to be glowing in the night as she climbed and stood at the exit of the valley.

Ranel also gave one last look at the valley. Wolves were down, scattered around her island. It was a beautiful sight. But not as beautiful as she was, now standing in light blue dress, lips slightly parted, eyes watery from attempt to keep the tears inside.

- "Beautiful. " He said while looking at her.

- "What? " She was at the verge of crying when she turned her eyes to him.

He quickly turned his view to the valley. - " Your valley. It looks beautiful. I know it's difficult for you to leave it, but I promise, if we get through all of this alive, we will come back here. "

- "You promise? " She was gaining control back. Her eyes were getting clearer. Single tear escaped her eyes for she couldn't hold it in. He ran finger over her cheek, wiping it off.

- "I promise. " His heart raced as he touched her cheek. He was looking eagerly at her lips. So soft, silky... For a moment time froze. Her cheeks turned red and he realized he's radiating warmth. He shook his head making himself come back to reality.

- "Let us leave now. " He said with a sad smile. She just nodded, strange look in her eyes.
He was grateful for the darkness that surrounded them in the tunnel. It hid the redness that was spreading over his cheeks. Water curtain will refresh him and get some sense back, he thought. /"I'm an idiot."/ his thoughts kept accusing him. /"How could she like someone that is responsible for the death of everyone she knew."

- "Just stop. " He said quietly to himself, not realizing he said it out loud. Walls of the cave echoed slightly, passing his whisper through it.

- "Stop what? " she asked, confused. They were out of the tunnel already, sound of the waterfall was loud.

He was glad he didn't have to answer, because of the deafening roar of the waterfall. He could see the stars through the water curtain and he was watching Leana slowly going through it. He couldn't understand how she enjoyed going through the waterfall icy water, but still got angry when he threw her in the lake. When he got out, he saw her laughing at him yet again...

- "What is it now? " he asked faking annoyance.

- "You look like you just came from a heavy rain. You're soaked. " On the other hand, she was completely dry. Only small drops from the water curtain were now starting to cover her arms and face with diamond-like water drops.

- "Yes I am. But... How did you stay dry? " He was impressed. " You used magic, didn't you? You're a wilder. "

- "I guess I did. I guess I am, whatever wilder might mean. " she just continued walking up the path.

- "A wilder... " He said, amazement notable in his voice. " Normally, a person cannot develop the ability to perform magic without a proper training. You had no training whatsoever. In some rare occasions, people that have a gift, they are capable to use their powers by pure instinct. Their magic is strong enough to manifest itself in certain situations. So your powers must've came out whenever you.."

- "...whenever I had need for it, yes, I get it. Now can we just continue walking? In silence..? "

Ranel just nodded and ignored annoyance in her voice. They were now far enough from the waterfall not to hear the sound of the water crushing on the rocks. On the left, the forest was spreading towards west. He could see the mountain tops in far distance rising in the north. He visited those mountains only once in his short life, and he still got chills. Snow covered mountain sides are no place for sun prince, he thought. On the east, the great bay was spreading, its waters glistening in the starlight. Single tree was standing on the cliff with broad branches, beautiful looking.

Ranel stopped and started whistling. The girl turned around, confused.

- "Why are you doing that? " she asked.

- "Just listen. " he smiled.

Soon, thunder was heard from the distance. It was clear right after, that those were the sounds of the hoofs. Soon, a black stallion emerged from the forest. Even from the distance he looked big. It didn't take him long to reach his rider. He bounced with joy, hitting the ground with his hoofs. Ranel hugged him and patted him on the sides.

- "I missed you too old friend. " He said with a grin while petting him. And just then, the sun started coming out from the horizon, spilling its golden rays through the branches of the tree.
