Rihanna Backs Out of Comeback Concert
Rihanna and her management team have announced that the R&B princess will not make a scheduled concert in the United Arab Emirates.
Rihanna will not be making her first public concert appearance as scheduled after all. The singer has not performed publicly since her altercation with Chris Brown that resulted in his arrest on felony charges. The concert was scheduled for later this month and organizers are hoping that Rihanna will be available for a make-up date in the fall.
"We want to share with you that Rihanna and her management will not be accepting to hold a public concert at this time as it is not appropriate timing for her," said Yassin Matbouly from Vibe Entertainment Management Agency.
With Chris Brown's trial date looming and Rihanna's personal efforts to get her life in order, now just doesn't seem like the best time for her to be performing in front of thousands of fans. And that is not accounting for the fact that whenever she returns, she is going to be bombarded with media, seeking to report on how she looked and how she addressed the Brown issue, if at all.
As reporters and paparazzi wait eagerly for Rihanna's return, we're all left to wonder exactly what she's thinking about the Chris Brown situation and where she sees her career going from this point forward. It is likely that both entertainers will be much more vocal about the incident after Brown's trial concludes, whenever that may be. At that point, there will be no legal ramifications to speaking openly about the incidents of that fateful night.
