The Right Copier Is The Best Copier

Human beings always felt the requirement to copy their written documents in order to reach to a wider audience and at times to save the original copy of the document from being damaged. With increasing needs for copying documents with an increased human communications, trade and interaction, a need for a faster and convenient mode of copying was felt. Carbon papers were widely used and took care of the copying needs during most of the 18th and 19th centuries. Mimeograph was yet another technology and is often considered as the immediate predecessor of the photocopying machine.

The basic technology involved in the photocopier machine was first used by the spies during the cold war to copy secret documents. The basic technology involves charging a rolling drum with static electricity. The original document is subjected to a strong light from a halogen bulb and the light falls in the drum as well. The imprint on the roller is put ion a paper and then the paper is subjected to heat and pressure and is collected on the output tray. This also explains the slight heat that one can feel from the duplicate copies that immediately comes out of the color copier machine.

Unlike the first photocopying machine, a modern day photocopying machine is an amalgamation of several technologies, meant to suit your needs or your office requirements. Key technologies include fax compatibility, sending data through e mail, the ability to print on both sides of the paper that enables cost cutting, digital technology instead of analog technology, that helps in time saving by virtue of the inbuilt memory that avoids the unwelcome requirement to feed the same documents more than once in order to make more than one copy of the same document.

There are other factors like energy savings, mobility, color photocopying, ink jets, scanners and software that recognize and block copying of currency notes in order to fight currency counterfeiting. There are others that make faded yellow marks on the duplicate copies in order to help copyright laws and even fight counterfeiting of currency notes. Some even sorts and staples the copies automatically. Most of the modern photocopier are feature specific and might or might not have all the features mentioned above.

What is equally important is to understand the purpose or requirement for buying a kodak copier. And once decided; it becomes an easy task to find the right one with the right features. Photocopying machines ushered the emergence of modern education system and played a vital role in the spread of literacy and education. As technology progresses and computers threaten to transform offices into paperless zones, photocopiers have an upfront task of making their utilities visible to potential customers as better than scanners, ink jet printers and several other competitors.

As an educated buyer it is important to know and understand your own requirements and decide whether a scanner will be a better choice than a photocopier. And if you decide that a photocopier is more appropriate for your requirements, you should know what all features should be included and excluded, in order to shortlist various copier as the right copier for all your needs!
