Police have confirmed that Sambora, 48, was pulled over at approximately 10:50 p.m. Tuesday night after his Hummer was spotted weaving on the road. Police said that he smelled of alcohol and seemed to be under the influence. A number of field sobriety tests were administered and he reportedly failed them all. Sambora was then placed under arrest and booked at the local police station. He reportedly opted for a blood test rather than a Breathalyzer and the results will be available in about a week. Police officers have said that there was no indication that Sambora had drugs in his system.

When he was pulled over Sambora had three females in the car with him. One was his alleged girlfriend who has not been identified, his 10-year old daughter Ava with Heather Locklear, and another unidentified juvenile. It has been reported that police are looking into child endangerment charges. Sambora was released on his own recognizance at approximately 4 a.m. and is expected to appear in court on May 7 to face one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence.

Just nine months ago Sambora checked into a treatment facility for one week. He said at the time, "I was just drinking too much and I needed to get my life back together." He added, "I’m still in therapy and stuff like that, but it’s good. I’m great. I feel fine." Sambora had a difficult last year. His divorce from Locklear was finalized in April. Later that same month his father passed away from lung cancer and just a few months later he split from his girlfriend of a year, Denise Richards. There has been no comment from his rep on his latest troubles.
