Review of the Lumbar Cushion

The Lumbar Cushion by Tempur-Pedic is 15 x 15 x 4 in size and costs about $90. The cushion is designed to provide comfort, fit and proper support for one's mid and lower back areas.

The lumbar cushion is made from higher density memory foam or "Tempur" material. The cushion is protected by a durable zippered cover that is blue in color. While the cover can be machine washed and machine dried, the pillow itself should not be put in a machine. It should rather be spot cleaned using a damp cloth and mild detergent. Putting the cushion in a washer or dryer will effectively destroy the memory foam.

Because memory foam is temperature and weight sensitive, it moulds to the shape of one's back, resulting in good comfort. If you sit for an extended portion of the day, then the cushion can result in better comfort, even if the chair you currently have has a cushioned back.

The Tempur material will lower any pressure points you experience when you sit back in your chair. In other words, the Lumbar Cushion may allow you to be more productive on the job by reducing or even eliminated seat discomfort. In addition, the cushion can also be used at home or in the auto. For example, if you spend a lot of time during your commute, the lumbar cushion can help to make the commute less stressful, particularly if you don't already like the comfort of your car's seating.

The cushion will likely have solid longevity, at least as good as other types of cushions. To put it differently, expect a couple of good years from the product with regular use.

Some owners may find the lumbar cushion to be too warm, since memory foam can become a heat trap since it can absorb one's body heat and not efficiently release it.
