Review of Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed and Wrap 'N' Roll Storage
I discuss the features of the Coleman Quickbed as well as its major pros and cons.
The Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed with 4D Pump and Wrap 'N' Roll Storage is big enough (77"L x 61"W x 9H") to accommodate two adults or three small kids.
The mattress is called a Quickbed due to the double-lock valves that let the bed inflate many times faster than air beds with pinch-type valves. The time it takes to inflate the mattress is about three minutes with the included QuickPump, which run on four D batteries. In addition, due to the double-lock valves, the Coleman deflates rather quickly as well.
The Coleman is good and appropriate for camping trips, overnight guests, or child slumber parties. It is not ideal for anything more than temporary use and should probably not be used for one's permanent bed (a bed expected to last a year or more), although some people do use it this way.
The PVC construction is designed to hold as much as 600 pounds and will fend off most punctures. But if one does occur, a repair kit comes with the bed. In terms of comfort, the Coleman features a ComfortSmart coil system that conforms to the contours of one's body, resulting in minimal pressure points. The soft rayon top tends to attract dust but nevertheless provides some warmth for colder nights. Its 56 coils and six-inch side gussets give good support. Also, you will find that flat or queen size sheets will fit more or less approximately on the Coleman.
One complaint about the bed from actual owners is that its size does not seem adequate. It is supposed to be a queen sized, but some owners seem to feel more space-constrained on it than they do on a conventional queen sized mattress.
Another complaint has to do with durability / longevity. Some owners report not getting much usage out of the Coleman before it breaks or no longer becomes usable. Owners point to problems with air leaking out or problems with the pumps.
