Review of 2.0" Visco2 Ventilated Mattress Enhancer
I discuss the features of the 2.0" Visco2 Ventilated Mattress Enhancer as well as its major pros and cons.
The Sleep Studio's ViscO2 memory foam mattress topper / pad is designed for people who are not fully satisfied with the comfort and support that their mattress currently provides them with.
A mattress topper / pad such as the Sleep Studio can revitalize an older mattress, perhaps adding months or even years to the bed's usable life. The foam is also well known for alleviating pressure on the hips and shoulders that one often experiences when lying down on a bed, especially on one's side.
One fairly common complaint among memory foam pad owners is that they can create a heat trap, thereby making the sleeper feel hot and uncomfortable while lying in bed. To combat this, the product features three zones of air channels to allow air circulation at the head and feet and more support in the torso area.
The topper is eight pounds out of the box and the density is three pounds per cubic food. Three pounds of density is probably as low as you want to go for a memory foam pad. Any lower and you simply won't notice much of a difference when the product in on your bed. The advantages of having three pound density are that you will find it easier to move around on the bed than you would with a higher density foam, and if you don't weight much you won't have any difficulty sinking into the foam. (People who weigh 110 pounds or less often report that they simply lay on top of a high density pad and don't sink in much to benefit from the contouring properties of the foam.)
In addition to sleeping hot, another fairly common problem with memory foam pads is that they can give off a chemical-like odor for a while after they are new. Owners of this product do report this odor, but they do usually say that it goes away in a couple of days and is not a major problem for them.
